•Chapter 3: Bishops•

About 7 minutes passed and everyone had their seats, Une howled at us, making the whole area grow quiet. Une stood up straight and introduced himself like he always did every time

"Hello all! I am your trusted head saint, Une. Today we are lucky enough to welcome 6 new patients to our lovely society of DEMA. We insure that we will help and heal these lost souls and show them the right way to the path of heaven. With that aside, let me introduce our saviors. The ones who were there to pick us up when we were weak. The ones who always stood by us when we felt at our loneliest. May I present, our Bishops of DEMA!"

One by one, each of the 9 bishops entered the room. They stood in a straight line all facing their patients. They each introduce themselves like they always do, starting with the one to the farthest left. He introduced himself in a echoed voice as Bishop Andre.

One after another...

Bishop Lisden

Bishop Keons

Bishop Reisdro

Bishop Sacarver

Bishop Nills

Bishop Vetomo

Bishop Listo

And lastly

Bishop Nico

The one who brought me and Josh here to DEMA.

It's not that I despise him but..

I just feel more or less uncomfortable around Nico or as I called Blurryface

I would assume everyone had their own names for Nico, I once heard this girl call Vetomo "The Lane Boy" which is coincidentally the name of one of mine and Josh's songs

After the introductions, Deux and Trois appear from either side of the Amphitheater, each holding onto a long white cloth that is tied around 3 "patients"

They stop behind the Bishops and stand there, awaiting their next order

The Bishops turn back to them, jesturing Deux and Trois to let them handle the rest and take their seats, and so they did

As they took their seats, Nico walked up front and announced the patients. It was hard to describe they way he sounded, not like it was being heard but he was speaking though your mind. He pointed towards the girl on the far left.

"Harper Reiner. Born on October 23rd, 1997. Retrieved from her suicide attempt to jump off a building."

This was one of my least favorite parts about the ceremony next to the cleansing. They spill such personal stories that I bet the new patients didn't want to hear again

They went through all of them, having similar stories to eachother, all related to the one common factor

Suicide

The last person caught my attention though. She had (Hair color) hair and bright (eye color) eyes. Her story was soon explained by Nico

"Y/N L/N, Born in (Month-Day) 1989. Retrieved from her fifth attempt of suicide. All things said, she might have been successful this time if we didn't save her."

"Save her" is such a terrible description to define what they are doing to her and all the other "patients"

Also, her fifth suicide attempt? She must've had to have such a rough time back in her own life. I wonder what exactly happened to get her to the point of where she is now. I'll probably have to ask her after the cleansing. Or at least after she's comfortable to

The Bishops have finished the introductions of every new "patient" and now place them in a circle around a glowing podium

The Bishops then stand circular around each "patient" and chant in a unknown language to us and all of DEMA. Josh has told me it's their own language they created and they use it for spiritual cult activities like the cleansing. I swear I have no idea where he gets his thoughts from but I just learned not to question his mind. Cause I guess sometimes to stay alive you gotta kill your mind

As the cleansing goes on, the "patients" eyes turn from dull and emotionless to extreme fear and terror. Most of them start shaking uncontrollably and fumble around in their trapped state trying to escape the pain, but to no avail

They start to scream, filling the silent room with yelling and begging.

Some started to cry, others bit their lips hard enough to have it start to bleed. This had to always be the worst part of the cleansing ceremony

The patients behind Josh and I started crying as well, I didn't realize at that time but I started to shed a few tears as well

Some of them were covering their ears and others straight up left the ceremony even though it was required for us to sit through the whole thing

Those people are brave enough to leave. The others who stay know the consequences of not following the orders of the Bishops. We never experienced it but the people who disobeyed the Bishops we have never seen since they did

Finally, the screaming ceased, the newly found patients panting from the extreme pain (*cough*)

The Bishops helped each of them up, unchaining them and lifting them to present them to all of DEMA

"Welcome, our new patients of DEMA"

Everyone stayed silent, no one said a word. After a couple of seconds past, the Bishops split into two groups. Each group formed a straight line and motioned the new patients to follow them into the large basement where they will be moderated till they have usual human nature back

As they walked down the middle isle, one of them stared at me, the girl named Y/N

She gasped, pure terror in her eyes. She mumbled

"It's you..!"

Heyyo~! That was Chapter 3

So sorry for the long wait but finally it's here!

I was having a really bad artist block (Author block? What would it be called?) and didn't know how to continue this chapter

I promise next chapter will be more detailed than this one lolol

I'm also planning on looking through the lyrics and full story of DEMA so you get a better feel for the world

I would also like to thank you all for 140+ READS WHAT!

I never thought I would make it here and it may not be a lot but it's an accomplishment to me

I hope with all the reads, it would motivate me to continue this :)))

I will be posting chapters a few weeks from eachother now since I get homework e v e r y d a y

But I promise it won't be THAT long of a wait!

Last thing, would you like a chapter explaining some of the things I added to the DEMA world? I won't spoil anything for future chapters though :3
