?:?? am, ? hours and ?? minutes until the end of The Annual Purge.

I slowly felt my eyes open. At first I wasn't sure if they were open or not; it was completely dark. I also felt like I was moving fast. I think I may have been back on the water, most likely heading back to the Chicago area. At least, I hoped I was. I then gasped; Kelsey! Where was she? Then, as if on cue, I heard her moan right next to me.

"Kelsey?" I asked softly.

"James?" she replied.

"Are you okay?"

"I think so... What happened?"

"I think they tranquilized us or something."

"Where are we?"

"I think back in the water. We're probably going back to Chicago."

"Are they taking us to Mark?"

"I don't know..."

We then were silent for what felt like a while.

"What time is it?" she asked suddenly.

"I don't know," I replied. "I don't have my phone... They must've taken it."

"Wait... I have mine!"

"Really?!"

I then saw her face suddenly illuminated from the screen of her phone.

"I guess they didn't see you as a threat," I murmured.

"It says it's... 3:44 am."

"So we still have about...3 hours and 16 minutes until The Purge ends."

"Not that much time."

"No, it's not..."

"Dang it," she said with sadness. "I don't have any reception!"

"Not that we could call anyone, anyway," I pointed out.

"Yeah, you're right..."

We then sat in more silence.

"James, what did Mark do last year?"

"Hm?"

"What did he do that made you want to kill him?"

"I told you; he took everything from me."

"That's not good enough."

"How?"

"That doesn't explain much!"

"It's a long story, Kelsey."

"Is there another way you would like to spend the time?"

More silence. I then just sighed.

"I'll give you a head's up; it's a tear jerker."

I then tried holding back the tears as I thought of what happened a year ago, so close to what I thought was the end of the terror.
