Part 48

"Why you wanted to change yourself for me? You were and you are perfect, Madhu"

"Oh, please! Stop being so nice to me and show me some of your arrogance and attitude then only I can make myself believe that I am not dreaming." She said and bumped her shoulder with his.

"Madhu..."

"You did wrong to me but I feel I have punished you enough for that so no more guilty conscious."

"You didn't punish me at all."

"Oh please..." To be frank she was bored of having this conversation with him. 

"You just gave me a second chance for which I am so grateful to you and I have told you this so many times."

"Even you gave me a second chance, Rk." She said taking his hand in hers. "If you hadn't come back in my life I wouldn't have dared to dream again. I would have led a goalless life which would have bored me at some point of time..."

"You had a goal"

"Hun?" Madhu frowned.

"Ruhi" he said. "I still remember you saying our daughter was your reason to live and you wanted to be a devoted mother to her and always protect her. Don't you call that as your goal?" 

"Ah Ruhi... Meri jaan" she couldn't even imagine how her life would have need if she hadn't had her daughter with her during those dark days. "Yes, being a hands on mom to her is my life time goal"

She wanted to devote her whole life for her daughter but at the same time, she wanted to achieve the dreams she had for herself too so that there won't be any regrets in her life, ever.

"If she is your life then what am I to you?" Rk asked little bit seriously.

"Once you were my dream and now..."

"Now?" Rk looked down at her face.

"My hope. You're my hope."

"Hope?" he tested the word. "Hope for what?"

"Hope for a new beginning. Hope for life time of happiness."

"Ahaan" he smiled showing his dimples. "Then you are 'my' hope for eternal togetherness." He took her hand and placed it closer to his chest. "Never leave me, Madhu. I love you so much."

Madhu smiled before leaning up and kissing his cheek. "I won't leave you, Rk" she whispered her promise. "Now, eat"

He kissed her hand before letting it go and picking up his fork and knife.

They ate in silence for a couple of minutes before Madhu broke it.

"Rk..."

"Hmm"

"Shall we take a vow?"

"Vow?" He turned to her side with a confused frown. "What vow? Wedding vow?" He asked hopefully.

"No" she shook her head disappointing him.

"Then?"

"Once we start acting in movies we will get super busy..."

"Yeah, I know"

"But still I want us to make time for our Ruhi. We should spend as much as time we could with her. We should never let her feel lonely or unloved..."

"Don't worry, darling. Ruhi will be our first priority and everything else will come only after her." he promised by giving her hand a squeeze. "Now let's seal our promise with a..." He paused for a second before kissing her lips.
