Alarms blared though the Mindscape, alerting Roman, Patton, and Logan to the forming of a new trait. It didn't happen often; The most recently created trait was Missy, or Misleading Compliments. He had appeared many years ago, when Thomas began using Vine.

Rushing to the control center, the existing traits stood inside for a moment before the new trait formed. What they saw caused soft gasps to escape their lips.

The trait was dressed in all black. He had a scowl on his face, but it looked slightly like a frown. He had a large amount of black eyeshadow underneath his eyes, causing him to look a raccoon. The trait was extremely pale and thin, the way a person who hasn't eaten for several days may have looked. They certainly hadn't been expecting this, thinking that the new trait would be cheery, like Missy or Patton. Instead, they got a darkly dressed, miserable looking addition to the mind.

"Where... where am I?" a nervous voice said. The trait spoke softly, as if he didn't know if he was allowed to.

Startled by the trait's sudden speech, the creative, moral, and logical traits turned around to answer him.

"Salutations. I am Logic, my fellow traits are Creativity and Morality. Welcome to the Mindscape," Logan said. Being the embodiment of logic, he spoke in the way that a CEO or president of a company might speak.

The new trait looked confused by Logic's stiff, formal speech. Morality decided to take over, saying essentially the same thing. However, he said it in much more simple, child-like terms.

"Hi, kiddo! I'm Morality, but you can call me Dad. Those two are Logic and Creativity. This is the Mindscape."

"Oh. Um, thanks."

The other three traits stared at him in expectancy. Not knowing why, he decided to ask.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked hesitantly.

"What trait are you?" the cheery trait, Morality, asked.

The newcomer mumbled something under his breath.

"What was that, kiddo?"

"Anxiety..." he said, still quiet, but loud enough to hear.

The existing parts of the mind looked... surprised to say the least. Turning away, they began to mutter to each other.

Anxiety was only able to hear small bits of the conversation.

"...why... anxiety disorder?"

"No... possible... take medication."

"Depression... anxiety... hand in hand... Dark Room?"

Anxiety didn't understand what they meant. Why would whoever they were talking about need medication? Were they talking about him? Anxiety didn't think that they were. They would most likely tell him if they thought that he might need medicine.

The confused trait decided to interrupt.

"Do I have a room or something? This place kinda feels like it would be a house," he asked.

The other traits turned around.

"Go down the hallway, and turn left, yours is the second door. It's black. You go through that door for the hallway," a regal looking trait told him, pointing to a white door. Anxiety assumed that this was Creativity, as he was the only one who hadn't introduced himself.

"Thanks."

Anxiety made his way to his room, leaving the mutters and stares of the others behind.
