In 2053 the governments collided. Two Desperate countries were brought together by one idea.
Moreno, The company that created the transportations.
Moreno exists to keep the population under control. No world hunger, no homeless; everyone has their place.
On peoples' 35th birthday, they are taken from their families to a better place. It's so much better their current place, that they refer to it as the better world.
The government pulls up to houses in their sleek black vehicles. They knock on doors, and goodbyes are said to the family, and off they go.
It's hard to leave family, but it's easy knowing it's better where they're going.
Young Loretta Freigh witnessed her first transportation when her best friend's father turned 35. Less than a year later, Loretta's own father was taken away at age 34. Loretta's Dad had a terrible illness that only the better world could fix.
When she is seventeen an incident at school occurs, and Loretta is left with questions.
She meets a long lost boy, reunites with a friend, and journeys to try and figure out just what Moreno is doing.
