It's a normal day outside. The sun setting in the right place, the aromas of nearby restaurants filled the air with a smell only craved by those who loved the mixture of spices.
Driving home with the windows down, its a busy day here in downtown. Never is it not, but it's nice seeing strangers probably doing the same thing as me.
Working. Eating. Sleeping. Repeat. Basic life, you know?
I just got off from work and wanted to stop at my favorite book store before they closed. Then off to my favorite spiritual store, Indigo moons.
The first stop, Barnes and Nobles. Can't believe people who don't shop there. The aesthetic is just right. Saturday and Sunday mornings, I spend approximately 1 hour there with my favorite books. "Strategies of War" and "The Secret"
I have plenty of other favorites but these are my current reads right now.
Both books my dad gifted me. Very insightful. I pulled in and found a parking spot. I got out and proceeded into the store.
If i come here during the day its too look around for more books. I can't actually believe I took reading seriously. It's became apart of my daily schedule and I've never been more mindful to myself.
Walking in I greeted Janine, my favorite book store attendant.
"Ah Janine, good day? Hmm?" I smiled.
"Of course hun, how about you?" She smiled greeting me. I gave her a side hug.
I could smell the scent of the perfume she regularly uses for years now.
Of course she keeps them in business.
"Mmcht.." I started, "Long day, why must my project manager make everything hard at my job?" I sighed.
She gave me a look of awe. "Still working on that website development for Stokes?" She asked.
"Yes, and the due date got moved up today. We had 5 more weeks now we're down to 4.5. Not a major difference but when messing with Java it is." I rolled my eyes. Having to compute all that shit they are wishing for then the coding is blowing me. Not to mention my client asking to rebuild his computer is being difficult. He wants to add a specific processor but I keep telling him the software won't be completely compatible. It'll crash the damn motherboard."
I work in IT. Days are long as fuck not to mention my side business I have.
"Well Laila, you are brilliant. I'm sure you'll be able to finish in time. As for you're client, do what you think is best. He'll be thankful in the end." She smiled.
"Oh and I must mention, we are having the author of one of your books come through on Sunday at 5."
