"Honey come down here and help me with my boxes!" My mom yelled from down stairs. I was in my room unpacking boxes on my bed. We just moved from Nevada to Cali for my surfing future but I hope this will just be a fresh start for me anyway. All I really wanted at that point was just to make friends and have fun that summer. As I helped my mother unpack our living room, concerns about making friends and concerns about everything ran through my head. I took a knife to the tape holding the box together, and sliced through the it. I popped the bubble wrap to get to the frames, pulling out a photo of me and my brother when I was nine. I would've given anything to have him with my mother and I then. At that time, he was in the army somewhere over seas. I placed the frames on the side table and sat on the mulberry red couch, pushing the bubble rap to the other side. I have un-packed half of my room already and need a break..
"You look tired, you want to travel to the mall? Maybe make some new friends before school? It is only in just a month, you know." My mother said looking at me like I was a helpless puppy that's just been found on the side of the road.
"I will go to the mall... But I'm not going to make friends, I'll make tons here, I just need a new iphone case." I lied. My mother throws me a face and I know I'm pretty much caught. I always was terrible at making friends -and she knew that much. The only friends I ever really had were my Roxy surfing buddies that was it. But before she could say anything, I walked past her, making my way to the door as she handed the keys to me along with 40 bucks. "Thanks mom, love ya" I close the door and made my way to the orange crush colored Jeep. The mall was just down the road basically.
*10 minutes later*
I parked the Jeep and enter the mall through Macy's. the mall looked comepletely dead maybe because it was a Monday. I wanted a different Iphone case for the new school year so i thought what better place than Hot Topic? I entered and went stright to the Hello Kitty rack (i have a weak spot for anything Hello Kitty) I picked up a red case with a huge hello kitty head on it.
"NO! dont get that one get this one!" some girl yelled as i turned around she was dangling a cute hot pink case with white pokadots and a tiny white hello kitty head at the bottom right hand corner.
