I chuckled and put my phone away.
"Maya, Alex! Dinner time!" my mum called out. I went downstairs to find my older brother already stuffing his face in his plate of spaghetti.
"So Maya, how was your week?" my dad asked.
"Amazing! I know you wouldn't believe me but I swear I am telling the truth – Calum Hood from 5SOS is the teacher for How to Rock. Like what even!"
"Oh really, that's interesting. I hope you are keeping up with your biochemistry work."
"Yes, of course." Well...not exactly since Calum had been a huge distraction.
"Oh yeah, I was also asked to compete in the interschool music competition this year! It's on the 26th of October, and Calum offered to help me."
"That sounds really great Maya, but make sure you don't spend all your time on music. Remember you still need to get into med school," my mum frowned.
"Of course mum, don't worry."

short chapter :( i wrote a lot today omg. but this book is still gonna be quite short, maybe 20 chaps? idk lol. i really suck at writing so im sorry :((( but i just had some good ideas of the plot lol :P
