as if on cue, jack ran up to the table the two were seated at outside. he tossed wyatt's wallet onto the table.

"you left your wallet," y/n said, catching up to him. jaeden and finn were skateboarding along behind them, holding hands.

wyatt grinned. "are these the people you were talking about?" she asked. wyatt nodded. he explained each situation of each kid.

"and then y/n. she's the reason we're here," wyatt said. y/n blushed deeply. wyatt's mom hugged each one of the teenagers.

"where are you staying?" she asked. "a motel a few miles away," jack replied.

"why did you run all the way here? you could have just taken the car," wyatt said.

"you're the only one that knows how to drive," y/n said. "speak for yourself, i know how to drive," jack spat.

"legally," y/n added, giving jack a look.

"right."

jennifer looked between all of them. they looked like they were living off the streets, including wyatt. their faces were becoming hollow and no doubt their stomachs were caving in.

jennifer took it upon herself to let them stay with her for a while until she could figure out what do with them.

she couldn't let them live on their own.
