I grab the bag that had the diary inside it and slung it over my shoulder. "You did great." A voice says behind me. I turn around and see Tom. "Thanks." I say smiling. He walks up next to me. "So... how are we uh..." he starts "What?" I ask softly "The kiss scenes..." he says "Oh." I say softly.
Then I muster up the courage to do something. I grab him by the collar and kiss him. He is surprised at first but then wraps his arms around my waist and kisses back. I pull away from him and smile. "How was that for practice?" I say smiling.
He just smiles back.
We let go of each other and the projector projects "Mamma Mia!" On to the curtain. Everyone claps and the curtain opens again. Emma and Vanessa , who play Ali and Lisa, come out and call out for Sophie. Which was me.
"That's my cue." I say Tom kisses me on the cheek and walks away. I touch the place on my cheek where he kissed. I smile. Then I walk into the stage and the girls see me. I run to them and hug them. "I missed you!" I say Then we start singing. "We're... Sophie! Ali! Lisa! Were the greatest bestest mates!" We sing and clap our hands. "I'm tough!" Vanessa (Ali) sings "I'm tall!" Emma (Lisa) sings "I'm Tiny!" I sing "And were gonna rock this place! Whoop!" We sing and high five. Then Vanessa (Ali) and Emma (Lisa) grab my hand. "Sophie!" Vanessa (Ali)says "Its beautiful! I want one!" Emma (Lisa) says "He did Well didn't he?" Vanessa (Ali) asks "I'm getting married tomorrow!" I exclaim excitedly.
I wrap my arms around their shoulders. "I'm so glad you're here. Because I have a secret and I can't tell anybody else." I say laughing and smiling. Their eyes widen and their jaws drop and they look at each other. "Sophie! You're knocked up?" Vanessa (Ali) asks They bend down and place their hands on my stomach. "No! No! No!" I exclaim and take their hands off my stomach.
The audience laughs.
They stand back up. "I've invited my dad to my wedding." I say "You are joking!" Emma (Lisa) exclaims "You found him at last?" Vanessa (Ali) asks
"No! No,no,no,no,no not exactly." I say and sit down right where I was. They did the same thing. "Okay. You know what my mom always said when I asked about my father." I say "Mmhm." Vanessa (Ali) says "It was a summer romance, and he'd gone long before she realized that she was expecting me. And I'd always kind of accepted that that's all I'd ever know." I say
"Well, I was ransacking some old trunks and I found this." I say taking the diary out of the bag. "It's the diary she kept the year she was pregnant with me." I say smiling. "Sophie!" Emma (Lisa) exclaims I open the diary and I start reading. I've memorized what I had to say but I did it anyway in case I messed up. " 'July 17th. What a night!' "I start " I don't know if I wanna hear this." Emma (Lisa) says
"I do!" Vanessa (Ali) exclaims I keep reading.
" 'San rowed me over to the little island.' That's here that's Kalokairi." I say and clear my throat. " 'We danced on the beach, and we kissed on the beach, and... dot, dot, dot.' " I read. "What?" Emma (Lisa) asks " 'dot, dot, dot' that's what they did in the olden days!" I say Then Emma (Lisa) and Ali (share a look of realization and gasp, their eyes widen and jaws drop. "Stop it!" Emma (Lisa) exclaims.
