Kayla's P.O.V.

We stopped outside of the doors and just looked at each other.

The look in Tyler's eyes told me that he was thinking the same thing I was.

This was a suicide mission.

"Goodbye guys, I love you," I whispered before taking out my earpiece.

"It's been awesome," Tyler added before taking out his own.

He held his arms out.

"Come here," he motioned to himself.

I moved silently to him.

We kissed one last time.

Standing, I motioned to the door.

Tyler nodded.

We both kicked the door right next to the knob as hard as we could.

It splintered open, and we surged forward.

I nearly gasped at the room in front of us.

There had to be more than 40 guys.

I began to fight for my life.

Tyler and I got through maybe 15 guys before we began to lose ground.

There were just so many of them.

Suddenly, there was a horrible burning in my stomach.

Blood was coming from the area near my appendix.

I gasped in pain.

"Kayla!" Tyler exclaimed.

He grabbed me as I stumbled into him.

Our weapons were yanked from us, except for one.

My hair piece had one shot, which was basically useless to us at this point.

"I thought gunshots were supposed to all be mental pain?" Tyler muttered.

"Yeah, no," I winced.

"What should we do with em boss?" One of the goons asked.

I followed his line of sight until my eyes rested on a figure lurking in the shadows.

Cliche.

Tyler noticed him or her as well.

"Cliche much?" I grumbled.

A small smile crept to his lips for a split second.

"Hmmm, what should we do?" The leader mused, still in the shadows.

The smile dropped from Tyler's face.

"No way," he whispered.

Ignoring him, I focused on the voice of the leader it was really familiar.

The man stepped from the shadows.

He looked familiar too!

Tyler's face whitened.

"Oh hello son, good to see you," the man said.

Tyler's father.

"It's been years Kaylana," he smiled.

It was a nice smile, but it was creepy in context.

"Yeah, and tbh I'm kinda glad," I winced again.

The pain definitely wasn't fading.

"Oh details," he waved off.

"What the hell?!" Tyler exclaimed.
