When I get to the top of the stairs I glance into David's room. He is asleep with his head against his keyboard. A game I don't recognize is displayed on the screen and he still has his headset on.

I shake my head at him and go into my room.

When I check my phone I have a text notification from my boyfriend. He sent it only a few minutes ago.

J: call me please (:

I lean against my bed and click on his contact information to call him. I'm sure he's heard the news given that he is able to talk to me.

"Hey," I greet when the dial tone finally stops.

"Jae-ya," he sounds relieved, "Why were you ignoring me?"

I'm biting my lip nervously. Hearing his voice is reminding me of how much fun I had being with him last week. I can't believe I even thought for a moment that agreeing to the email was a mistake. I can't deny the butterflies in my stomach from hearing him.

"I was only sleeping," I reply, "I guess you heard the news?"

"Yes," Jungkook says, "You don't sound happy."

"I am happy!" I say quickly, "I'm just nervous is all."

"Don't worry," I can practically hear his small smile, "I'll be here."

"Obviously," I roll my eyes to myself, "That's why I'm going."

We share a laugh and I can hear a lot of commotion going on in the background. I can distinctly hear Taehyung screaming "So show me" in English. Oh my God. They're practicing for their promotions.

"You're performing Magic Shop?" I can't help but ask.

"You can hear him?" He gapes into the line.

"Yes, it's very loud," I laugh.

"No, we aren't performing it but he keeps yelling only that line," Jungkook laughs.

"Oh." I smile.

My cheeks hurt from smiling so much and we aren't even talking about anything worth smiling about. The feeling of talking to him has eased me slightly. When we were bickering— or whatever you want to call it— over text, it was giving me a different feeling.

The weight on my shoulders has disappeared and I can thank Jungkook for being able to lift it.

"So, you don't know what the meeting is about?"

"No, I really don't. I have to be there too."

"I feel uneasy about this. My father keeps telling me all this business stuff—"

"Noona," he interrupts me, "I just want to see you."

"I know," I sigh, "I want to see you too. But, I'm so American."

"What does that mean?" He chuckles.

"You know," I say shyly.

"Ah," Jungkook snickers, "That's why you told me to type it as 'yanno'!"

"Wow," I drag sarcastically, "You didn't realize that?"

"Yah," he defends, "I can only keep up with so much. You keep typing to me as if I speak English fluently."

"You do," I roll my eyes.

I hear a playful scoff come from the line and there are more voices around him. I hear rustling around until a door slams.
