Story: Amethyst served Citrine, a homeworld noble, since she was created. She fell in love with the defective Citrine, who was dumber and more naive than her fellow Citrines. When purple/pink Diamond was shattered (depends on what au this is in) Amethyst feared for her lovers life and fused with her. They both escaped to earth to join the rebellion. Citrine didn't like the fighting so they went to the new Pluto base, where a segment of the crystal gems who didn't want to fight where setting anchor.
