Katherine holds Sahara in an embrace, "God bless you, my dear. I can't stop crying."

Jennifer has also joined them and has been sniffling for the past two minutes. Three out of the four tests came out positive.

"I can't wait to tell Damian!" Sahara's smile is ear-to-ear because she can't stop. Her eyes are glimmering from thinking about being a mother.

"I'll have Sebastian book you a doctor's appointment! My God we're going to have a little Vasilliev running around the house soon enough!" Katherine almost shrieks from being so excited. "Jennifer, come with me. Let's give Sahara some time alone to process everything."

Jennifer nods and congratulates Sahara one last time.

When the two leave the room, Sahara sits down and cries out of sheer happiness one more time. There are so many emotions going through her head. She strokes her belly, "I'm growing a person inside me. We created a person out of love." Her eyes are so wet that her vision is completely blurry.

Sahara had decided she wanted to surprise Damian about their exciting news so she chose to be creative. She made a cute box, wrapped in blue and pink. She went out and bought a baby shirt, which she placed inside the box. The shirt that read 'Best Dad in the Whole Wide World'. Along with the shirt, she placed a USB that has the video of her discovering that she is pregnant. While she's staring at the box, she couldn't stop gleaming at it.

That night, Damian came home from work early to make sure his wife was okay only to find her doing even better than okay.

Sahara was standing in front of the mirror, looking at herself when he wraps his arms around her waist from the back, "My, my, my wife is glowing tonight. Any special occasion?" His nose nuzzles into the nape of her neck, sending pleasant shivers down her spine.

Sahara turns around with the biggest smile on her face. "I would say so. Please, sit." She points at their couch.

"Am I going to get a show?" He smirks as he takes his seat.

Sahara gives him a playful smile. "Not quite." She hands him the box that she spent hours on decorating.

Damian looks at the box, puzzled. "What is it?"

"You're going to have to open it to figure that out." Sahara states the obvious.

"Judging from your smile, it's something extremely exciting." He says.

Sahara nods enthusiastically.

He opens the box and picks up the shirt. His face is expressionless, almost grim. But Sahara thought it was because Damian's in a state of shock.

She takes his hand and places it on her stomach. "We're going to be parents, Damian! We're going to be parents!"

Damian lets his hand linger for a few seconds before snatching it away to Sahara's surprise.

"What the fuck?" His tone is alarming.

"Damian, what's wrong?" Sahara asks, visibly hurt with his reaction.

His eyes darken, "I told you children wasn't something I fucking wanted. How the fucking hell did this happen?"

She places her hand on his arm to calm him down, "I understand that you're upset, Damian. But this isn't something I could've controlled."

He shakes off her hold, "What the hell do you mean? You've been taking precautionary measures to prevent this, haven't you? Or did you deceive me?"

"Damian!" Sahara says in a pained tone. "You're being insensitive about the situation. I expected better from you."

"And I expected better from you. I didn't want children, and you knew that." He stands his ground.

"You never told me! You always avoided the topic. And you've never had an open conversation with me about it!" Sahara is beginning to lose her patience. "Besides, I didn't make this baby on my own, we're both responsible for this. But what's done is done. We have a baby on the way and if you can't handle that, then I don't know what to tell you."

"What if I don't want the goddamn baby, Sahara?" Damian's words slip out of his mouth before he can even give it a thought. The moment it slipped out, he knew he messed up. The look in Sahara's eyes are all that he needed to see to know that he shouldn't have said that. "Sahara, I didn't mean—"

"I don't know, Damian..." she stares at her stomach. "Then, I guess— I guess you'll have to forget about me too." She says in her most quiet voice.

"Sahara, listen..." Damian begins but Sahara walks out of their room before he can say anything else.

Damian grunts in frustration as he slides his hand through his hair. "I always fuck things up, goddamn it!" He scolds himself.

Damian thought Sahara would be back in their room to sleep and he would apologize for acting like such an asshole to her. But that night, Sahara didn't sleep in their room.

He couldn't sleep all night because he wasn't used to not holding Sahara in his arms as they slept. He kept twisting and turning over, longing for Sahara.

He even got up to go check on Sahara, however, Katherine suggested against it, saying it might not be right to talk to her now.

He went back in his room, and stayed up most of the night, thinking about how to make it up to her for being so insensitive about something so special.

In the morning, Katherine knocks on his door to bring him his morning tea.

"Good morning, Sir." She says as she places the cup of tea on the table.

"Good morning, Katherine." Damian greets back. He looks visibly groggy from getting less than three hours of sleep. "Is Sahara up?"

Katherine doesn't look at Damian but slips him a sticky note. "Ma'am has left this for you." She says and quickly exists the room.

The note reads:

Damian,
If you're feeling the least bit guilty for all the horrible things you said last night, you should meet me at the obstetrician-gynaecologist's office for our appointment for the ultrasound. The details are at the bottom of the note.

Please give our baby a chance, I know this experience will change your mind, Insh'Allah (Translation: If Allah Wills). I love you so very much.

Sincerely,

Your Hopeful Wife,
Sahara

Damian couldn't help but smile at the note, his Sahara never fails to melt his heart, even when she's upset with him. What did he do to deserve such a wonderful soulmate, he'll never understand.

"I guess I'm meeting my child today." He says to himself.
