Sophie’s Pov ~

“Sophie,” I heard Kayla say. My face was sitting on top of my knees as I hugged my legs.

“Yea?”

“Are you going to tell Troy about your childhood anytime soon?” she asked.

I shook my head, “No. I don’t want anyone else to know, Kay. It’s too painful to even think about it! I mean, for once in my life, I’m somewhat happy and I don’t want to remember the things that happened in the past.”

“I know what you mean, Soph, but you have to tell someone other than me. Maybe it’ll make you feel better if you just let it all out...? If you don’t want to than that’s your choice. Don’t let me make your decisions for you.”

“I’ll think about it.”

“You better think about it, Sophie.” She took a seat next to me in the seat that was next to mine.

“Thanks, Kayla.”

“For what?”

“For this little pep-talk thing, and for forgiving me. I know I hadn’t seen you for like almost seven years, but you were there for me, Kay.”

“Oh that. You’re welcome. But you know, I couldn’t help it, I’m just too awesome so I had to forgive you. I mean who wouldn’t forgive their all-time best friend? And you had a good reason to!”

I giggled to myself but didn’t say anything. Kayla was such a good friend….

“Oh, and what did you need to tell me that was so important?”

I then remembered the dream….. “I uh….had a dream.”

“So you made me come to your house just so you could tell me about a dream that you probably only remember half of? This better be good.”

“The dream had me, you and Troy….”

“It had Troy in it?” she asked, raising her eyebrows.

“Yeah, it did. Well anyways, he and Jake were kind of like switched or something. So Jake had Troy’s personality and Troy had Jake’s personality….But the weird thing was that Jake had died and Troy was my boyfriend…” I explained, trying to remember.

“Troy was your boyfriend?” she asked, her mouth forming an “o”.

“Yeah, I know, weird. Back to the dream. Troy and I…uh…we almost kissed. And that’s when I woke up, as we were about to kiss!”

“Oh my gosh, Sophie! That is disgusting on so many levels….”

“But the problem is….”

“The problem is….?” She repeated, gesturing for me to continue.

“I didn’t want the dream to end. We were all having fun….I-I don’t know, Kayla…”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa! So you enjoyed it??” She wriggled her eyebrows at me.

“I guess you can say that…” I replied. Suddenly I remembered something else that happened to be one of the most important events that happened in my dream. “And….I kind of told him that I loved him….But he said it first! I swear!” I broke eye contact with her and began to play with my fingers.

“You did what!?!” I'm just glad that Kayla wasn’t drinking anything when I told her that, because I'm sure if she was, she would’ve spit it out all over my face.

“Yeah I know, but hey, don’t blame me! It’s not my fault that you can’t control your dreams.”

“But still! Kayla, do you think that by any chance that dream may have meant anything?
