"..Hey, Jon..." you struggled to keep your tone even, finding a struggle in not complaining to him about specific things that have recently happened. You sat on the floor of your bedroom, with your phone against your ear, trying to reach out for the boy you were proud to call your friend.

You sat down on an empty space between the medium sized bed and the wall. Your bet was left unarranged, with a red cover little yellow lightning prints resembling the Flash's logo, left tangled, with matching pillows.

A study desk set beside your window, where you had a stack of books you had tried reading from other classes.

The room was covered wall to wall, of various photos of you taken by Nath and Jon from age 12. A small amount of the pictures included Asenath posing with you when you were very wrong. It wasn't long when you found out she was shy around cameras and refused selfies or any recording of her.

Your wonder woman curtains have been drawn open, letting a little bit of Metropolis's sunshine in.

It was the usual Saturday morning, a day when anyone would relax, go to the mall, play video games or probably past time by watching Saturday morning cartoons.

You, on the other hand, weren't able to do all four of those things. Math equations had been troubling you the first time you opened the textbook, the math problems you were assigned to solve and shoe your answer were driving you crazy.

You and Jon have planned to have a study session since your math skills were pretty rusty, and you were at the risk of failing. (Of course, you didn't tell Jon all of that, he would worry too much).

You sat there, staring at the poster of the Justice League of America tapped to the back of your bedroom door.

"I'm calling to see if you're still available," you sighed, looking at your Superman themed digital alarm clock, sitting on the left side of your bed next to you on the nightstand. You pulled a plushy from under you, setting it on your lap.

You watched as the number changes to 2:30 pm, causing your heart to ache in a painful way.

" You were supposed to be here, two hours ago." You said, snuggling against your Green Lantern pig plushy, beside you. You noticed how to sounded pathetic and desperate, which you hated, so you then added, " Quadratics aren't easy, you know? I'll see if I can figure things out, for now, please pick up your phone so we can talk, later!"

Voicemail sent, to Jon

You frowned slightly, that was the sixth voicemail, instead of feeling irritated like any other person, you were concerned.

It's either Jon made it in time, early or was late by a minute or two, the boy sure had a way of making someone worry to death.

You even made apple pie for the both of you to enjoy, with the help Asenath, a thank you gift to him for the muffins he got for you last week.

Graph and line sheets of paper were scattered around your area, the math textbook you had open a certain page to copy down an equation.

"I guess I can start writing down the equation of this graph here, and possibly-" you immediately started to thank the Gods as you heard your signature ringtone, you weren't up studying at the moment, not when you and Jon made plans to get you started on the basics.

"Jon-" "(y/n)... I am so sorry." Jonathan said, with an errant voice, the background was noisy, nothing like construction or traffic hour noise, it sounded as if he was miles out of the country. That, or he might have been surrounded by nature, with noises you couldn't distinguish for yourself.

"Jon-" "I didn't forget if that's what your thinking, I was a little busy with something that I thought I'll finish in a short amount of time, but it ended up taking longer."
