A Fairy Tale Life Can Be Oh-So Overrated

Chapter 3

"It's so good to finally meet you all. I'm Ben." the boy in the blue and yellow suit introduces himself, Ben, Belle's and Beast's kid, I pictured him being more... hairy.

"Prince Benjamin - soon to be king!" the girl in the pink dress says excitedly. Oh my Hades I hate her already.

"You had me at prince. My mom's a queen, which makes me a princess." Evie says breathlessly

"The Evil Queen has no royal status here and neither do you." Woah snarky bitch, who the Hell do you think you are? I see Evie's face drop in shock and sadness

"Um, excuse me? No royal status? I think you'll find that she does have a royal status, royal blood makes you a royal, the Evil Queen is still a Queen, it even says in her name, the Evil Queen, not the Evil Peasant, choices in life or not she is still a Queen which still makes Evie a princess," I say to her, blood boiling again. Ben chuckles awkwardly

"This is Audrey." Ben says

"Princess Audrey. His girlfriend. Right, Bennyboo?" she interrupts him again

"I would never have guessed you were a princess, especially with that attitude," I growl at her, I'm 126% positive that I hate her more than anything right now. There's another awkward silence before Fairy Godmother pipes in again.

"Ben and Audrey are going to show you all around, and I'll see you tomorrow. The doors of wisdom are never shut. But the library hours are from 8:00 to 11:00. And as you may have heard, I have a little thing about curfews." she says enthusiastically before walking away with a slight skip in her step, why are all Auradonians so... happy, it's giving me a headache

"It is so, so, so good to see that you are finally he..." he begins a prepared speech but stutters as Jay hits his shoulder "here in Auradon," he holds out his hand for me to shake but retracts it almost immediately when he sees the glare I'm giving him, he moves onto Mal "and I'm so happy to finally meet you all" he pauses as he stares at her "This is a momentous occasion, and one that I hope will go down in history..." He shakes Carlos' hand and worries about a brown stain that is left on his hand, "Is that chocolate?" Carlos sucks some of the remaining chocolate from his thumb and Ben moves onto Evie, "As the day our two peoples began to heal and the day th-"

"Or the day that you showed five peoples where the bathrooms are." Mal interupts, getting bored with the boring speech, Ben laughs

"A little bit over the top?"

"A little more than a little bit."

"Well, so much for my first impression." they exchange a laugh, Hades you could cut the sexual tension with a knife. Apparently I'm not the only one who notices it

"Hey! You're Maleficent's daughter, aren't you?" Audrey speaks up, "Yeah, you know what? I totally do not blame you for your mother trying to kill my parents and stuff. Oh, my mom's aurora. Sleeping-"

"Beauty! Yeah, I've heard the name. You know, and I totally do not blame your grandparents for inviting everyone in the whole world but my mother to their stupid christening."

"Water under the bridge?"

"Totes!" they share a sarcastic, annoying laugh, leaving us all in another awkward silence.

"Okay! So, how about a tour? Auradon prep, originally built over 300 years ago and converted into a high school by my father when he became king." Ben says, breaking the silence and leading us through the gardens until we reach a bronze statue of King Beast, Ben claps his hands and I watch in awe as the statue changes from a beast to a man, Carlos however shrieks at the sudden change and throws himself into Jay's arms whimpering, "Carlos, It's okay." Ben says in a soothing voice, "My father wanted his statue to morph from beast to man to remind us that anything is possible."

"Does he shed much?" Mal asks sarcastically

"Yeah, mom won't let him on the couch." I see Mals eyes widen at the thought as Ben laughs a goofy laugh, while my own eyes widen at the goofy laugh, while Audrey's eyes widen at the flirting going on between Mal and Ben, while Evie's eyes are wide at the sight of the 'beautiful' castle and gardens, while Jay's eyes are wide because Carlos is in his arms and Carlos' eyes are wide in fear from the statue changing, eyes are wide all around, Mal breaks the silence

"So you guys have a lot of magic here in Auradon? Like wands and things like that?" Oh my badness Mal make it a bit more obvious why don't you

"Yeah, it exists of course, but It's pretty much retired. Most of us here are just ordinary mortals." Ben answers

"Who happened to be kings and queens."

"That's true." Audrey says loudly, using her arm to wrap Ben's arm around her waist "our royal blood goes back hundreds of years." Ben chuckles awkwardly again, obviously embarrassed, I don't think this is going the way he planned, he spots a boy coming down the stairs and shouts him over, I recognise him as the lead noise maker from before,

"Doug. Doug, come down. This is Doug." Ben announces, yeah I'd guessed as much, "He's going to help you with your class schedules and show you the rest of the dorms. I'll see you later, okay? And If there is anything you need, feel free to-"

"Ask Doug." Audrey interrupts, I can tell from the 10 minutes of meeting this girl that I'm going to hate every fibre of her being. Ben and Audrey walk away from the five of us, leaving us with 'Doug'

"Hi, guys. I'm Dopey's son. As in dopey, doc, bashful, happy, grumpy, sleepy, and... Heigh-ho." he says to us before spotting Evie and instantly growing breathless,

"Evie. Evil Queen's daughter." Evie says flirtatiously. Doug regains his breath and continues speaking

"So about your classes, I, uh, put in the requirements already... history of woodsmen and pirates, safety rules for the Internet, and, uh, remedial goodness 101." he says quickly,

"Let me guess. New class?" Mal smirks while eating a piece of toffee, Doug gives a small nod, "Come on, guys, let's go find our dorms." Mal says, leading us up a staircase, Doug waits for Evie to pass before realising we're heading the wrong way,

"Your dorms are that way, guys." We all give him a stern look, why couldn't he have told us before we climbed the stairs, we all head back down and I hear him reciting the dwarves names again, "Dopey, doc, bashful, happy, grumpy, sleepy, and..."

"Sneezy." Carlos finishes for him before following us down a long corridor to find our dorms.
