ATHENA'S POV:
"Please don't hurt me... I'll do anything you want" I cried out.
"SHUT UP" he yelled and threw a punch to her stomach.
She held her stomach as she cried in pain. "Mommy please help"
Her mother just sat there crying not bothering to help at all. He bent down so we were at eye level. "She can't help you, no one can"
And with that he sent a blow to her face and she passed out.
I woke up in my own pool of sweat, tears running down my eyes. I thought the nightmares were gone.
"He can't hurt you anymore Athena, he's gone" My inner voice told me. That didn't help with calming my erratic heartbeat.
My father was a bad man...
He beat my mother and I almost everyday. He came home every night drunk and looking for someone to take his anger out on.
My mom said that he would change, that he loved us... but he never did nor did he love us. He was a self centered bastard.
He was great at first. When I was 9 things started to change. He would stay out all night. Come home drunk. Sometimes he wouldn't come home at all..
That's enough about him.
I looked at my alarm clock to see it was 7pm. I always took naps before my shift at the bar.
I got out of bed slid on my work clothes and headed to the bar.
Once I got there I could see it was already packed. I went to employee room and put my stuff in the locker.
Deckers Bar was a pretty popular place, packed almost every night.
Some people could get disrespectful but I learned to handle it.
I made my way to the bar to start serving drinks.
More people started to file in as time passed by.
People were grinding against each other, making out, talking and so on.
As I was serving and mingling with the costumers a gunshot filled the air.
