He grabs his black school backpack from a hook on his door and in it he puts sunscreen (2 bottles), bug spray, his $3, a tooth brush, a comb, a flashlight, and a few comic books for the ride. He stuffs a sleeping bag and pillow in a trash bag, and then he's finished. He puts the 3 luggage items on his bed and feels accomplished that the packing is done. He hopes he didn't forget anything important. He already has his 2 Fanny packs and watch, which are the most important.
He needs to meet at Bev's at 5, which gives him plenty of time to do anything else he needs for the day. Then he remembers his bike...how is he gonna get to Beverly's? His mom? He decides to go ask
He walks downstairs to find his mom. Not in her recliner, not in the kitchen. Maybe she's at the pharmacy? Running other errands? Eddie goes to the front window to see if her cars still there. It is. Then he finds her, trimming a bush in the front yard.
"Good morning!" He calls walking into the porch then making his way over to her
"No eddie back up a little! You'll have an allergic reaction from the fresh cut grass! I mowed the lawn earlier"
Eddie steps back and proceeds with what he was gonna say
"I was wondering if you can give me a ride to my friends house later"
"At 5? I can't, I am going out to dinner with a friend at 4:30" she says with no concern, continuing with her precise cutting
Eddie looks to ground and thinks for a moment
"Oh, ok. I'll find a ride"
"Alright dear, now go inside and get away from the grass"
Eddie nods, which is pointless because she's not looking at him, and goes back inside to make himself some breakfast and ask someone for a ride
Eddie: hey I need a ride to bevs can someone pick me up later
Richie: hahahahahaha you don't have a license hahahaha
Eddie: yeah yeah ha so funny but seriously I need a ride
Mike: I can pick you up
Eddie: ok cool
Richie: no I can
Bill: why can't mike
Richie: BILL
Bill: OH yeah Mike, Richie will he lives closer
Mike: really?? I think I do
Bill: I'll text u separately and explain
Richie: billiam no not everyone needs to know this!¡!¡!
Eddie: ???
Richie: nothing it's just bill has a vaginal yeast infection
Bill: WTF
Richie: BILL ITS OK THAT YOU HAVE A VAGINAL YEAST INFECTION
