Chapter Ten

After two weeks of free hours, Demi had enough time to hang out with Joe, but her friends are watching her closer now that she runs off with no warning. "Time to kiss." Demi whispered to herself as she walked on set. Her and Joe have decided that the midnight walk that happened never occurred. The taping for the kissing scene is today and Demi hasn't been as nervous as she is. "You ready?" She said quietly to Joe who was standing beside her.

"Kind of. Are you?" He asked as the whole cast gathered around the camera crew staring at Joe and Demi.

"Not really." Demi sighed and butterflies came as soon as she saw the director walking towards his chair.

"Don't worry, you'll do fine." Joe encouraged. Demi smiled and nodded.

"You know, I was thinking of keeping this as a souvenir." Demi smiled as her and Joe folded the American flag.

"I can't believe we lost." Joe said leaning on the pole.

Demi turned and smiled at him, "Every song can't be a hit." He smiled back letting her continue. "Isn't that what you told me?" He sighed. "Doesn't mean we have to stop singing." Joe nodded as intervals in Demi's lines. "Look, I'm really sorry I didn't get to spend more time with you this summer."

"Hey, the whole reason I came here-" Joe whispered.

"Was to get to know me better." Demi finished.

"I've learned everything I needed to know."

Demi smiled as butterflies kicked in again knowing that the whole cast was looking at them. She leaned in kissing Joe's lips. "Cut!" The director said as they grew confused knowing that it was supposed to be longer.

"What?!" They both said at the same time.

"I'm sorry, but the camera was in the wrong angle. Drew can you move over there?" The director said as Demi crossed her arms glaring at him. The whole cast tried to hold in their laughter.

"Don't do this to me, Mr. D." She said. Joe frowned and stayed on his spot.

"I'm sorry, they were technical difficulties." The director reasoned as Nick couldn't take anymore and started cracking up.

"Shut up." Joe said to Nick as he tried to stop.

"I'm sorry." He apologized still recovering from the laughing fit.

"Okay, here we go." The director said as Demi sighed and Joe shook his head getting back to the spot where they were.

Demi smiled again and leaned in kissing Joe's lips. "Cut!" The director said. This time the whole cast laughed making it impossible for Joe to gather up his emotions. Demi held his shoulders stopping him. "Sorry, but Drew I told you to go over there?" The director said as the camera man moved. "Okay, action!"

Demi smiled leaning in restarting the whole process of her nervous system. A phone rang, "Cut!" The whole cast laughed again not taking control of their laughter.

"Sorry!" Nick said grabbing his phone and didn't notice Joe running towards him. Joe grabbed his phone throwing it in the lake.

"Don't fucking play with me Nicholas." Joe said seriously directly to his face. Everyone stopped laughing noticing Joe's anger. Joe walked on set as him and Demi succesfully finished the scene.
