DFC's Heart Warriors - Hailey and Kinsey

Chapter 1 - Hailey and Kinsey pt2

 As mid-day comes around as schools release all the students for their break Kinsey and Hailey leave their friends with a brief farewell. As they walk towards their family's car Hailey stretches her arms behind her head...
"Finally Its time to go back home, I'm so ready for break"
Kinsey just holds her books tightly to her chest as she watches her sister complains about school as always, she couldn't help but wonder what she could do to make Hailey get more interested in things other than having fun all the time.  Suddenly Kinsey began to think about the upcoming school talent show maybe she could get her sister to enter,... but quickly remembering Hailey doesn't really have any talents.  As they enter the car Hailey flops down onto he car seat, "Thanks you its finally OVER!!'  Her mother just looks back at Hailey through the rear view mirror slightly lifting her left eye brow, "Dont abuse the seat sweetie" she replies as Kinsey enters from the left side of the car,  once seated they began to pull off from the school lot, Hailey quickly reaches for the car's dash board to turn on the radio.

 On the way home Hailey and Kinsey were just ready to leave the house for a while, so once they got home they instantly went to go pack up their clothing.  Hailey and Kinsey love their grandparents on their mother side of the family but they just want to be with them for every break they have away from school. They have yet to meet their fathers side of the family, hardly even seen anyone from his side more or less their own father. Regardless of how often they see him they just want him to know that they love him. Kinsey couldn't help deciding what book to take with her for her break but she did know she wanted to wear her new skirt and black shirt at least once on the break. Suddenly She began to wonder what was her sister Hailey doing, so she walked slowly toward the wall placing her ear on the wall, but she couldn't hear anything as if the room was completely empty.  Kinsey decided to stop packing to check and see what her sister was doing, slowly creeping around the corner to take a peep. Before her stood Hailey in the closet room , with clothing scattered all on the floor. 
"Um Hailey...sis are you okay" asked Kinsey as she walked up towards Hailey walking slowly towards her trying to avoid walking on the scattered clothing.  As she approached Hailey she turns around with a zombified look, Hailey takes strong hold of her sister...."Kinsey I cant find my dress" she says as she falls to her knees.  Kinsey just turns and walks back to their room to finish packing, leaving Hailey in the closet room leaving Hailey in the closet room. Kinsey then accidently bumps into her mother, ouch kinsey falls on her rear just took look up to see her mother reaching for her hand to pick her up. 
 "Forgive me, dear I didn't see you coming out of the closet room" replied her mother
Kinsey grabs her moms hand and replies "Its okay I  was just.." suddenly Kinsey noticed that her mother changed clothing. A grey long sleeve shirt with her faded skinny jeans and a HAIRCUT, WOW! mom you look great in a surprising tone, If father saw you I couldn't imagine the look on his face she says with a smile. Her mother takes a short breath followed by a smile and tells her "Thank you sweetie, .. Did you find you a book to take with you for the trip?"
Kinsey explained to her mother that she really couldn't think of a good book she just really wanted to read. As her mother heard her say that she quickly got an idea, " Have something for you then". Kinsey felt a little excited as she began to follow her mother to her bed room.  As she entered she was greeted with the warm scent of lavender as the sunlight shined in through her mother's bed room window. Her mother then heads towards the closet in her room as Kinsey decided to take a look around in her mothers room taking quick notice of the family portraits on her mothers dresser . 
"Mother does really miss father, im sure she does" she thought to her self after seeing all the pictures and laughs they had. Kinsey takes a quick breath and turns around to see her mother carrying a old chest from her closet. She quickly dashes over to help her mother with the weight, as they place the chest on the ground her mother pulls a key out from her dresser. Kinsey couldn't help but wonder what was inside the chest , more importantly why did her their mother have chest of that size in her closet to begin with.
