The Moment: Chapter Nine

"The thoughts you tracked, those weren't Dex's, Lihn's, and Tam's right?" Fitz asked Sophie as he led her behind a tall tree.

"No, I guess not." Her eyes were burning with frustration. Why was the Neverseen back?

"Okay, new plan. We need to find the others before they find them," Fitz explained, pointing to the three figures. They seemed to be checking something.  " Can you stretch out your mind to find them?" Sophie nodded in reply.

"But just in case," Sophie said, taking Fitz's hand in hers. "We need to be prepared." 

Fitz let go of her hand, taking off her glove. He handed it to her as he said, "If we're gonna work quick, we need both our minds at the same level." Sophie smiled as she nodded. 

They took off, stretching their minds away from the Neverseen, and towards where they left Keefe.

Dex!?

Tam?!

Lihn?! 

Keefe?!

They both kept calling their names as they ran through the trees and hills, panic and determination surging through them. They both stopped and turned to face each other as one thought filled their heads.
