Each of those reply buttons highlighted will reply to the specific user of that post.Clicking on either of those arrows will again bring up the comment box,but it's going to look just a smidge different.
If you're replying to someone directly you'll see that users little floating head in the left corner of the comment box. You can change this to another user at any time without losing your comment. Simply click on the reply button under that users post and the floating head will change.
The final way to reply is at the very bottom of the thread. This is another reply button that will create a general reply to the thread instead of targeting a specific user.
Again clicking on that brings up the comment box and you can proceed to write your comment same as you would any other way. So that's how to reply. Let's move on to the various features you'll find in every thread.
At the very top of the thread, under the header bar, you'll see the thread title, the category it's in, and any tag assigned to that post.
If you're the thread creator, like I am for this thread, you'll see that little pencil beside the topic title. Clicking on that will allow you to edit the title, the category it's in, and the tags. If you click on the category (in this case Lab Experiment) it'll return you to all threads within that category. Clicking on the tag (in this case test) will take you to all topics tagged with that tag across all the categories. So it's just another way for you to navigate through the threads themselves.
