"Xavier!", I whined."Please?"
He huffed.
"Come on, you are my best friend! You have to help me!"
He rolled his eyes.
"You expect me to do this alone?! You know I can't do it without your help. Please? Please? Pretty please? Pl - "
"Ok fine!", Xavier finally gave in."Thanks! ", I squealed and pecked his cheek. He could never say no to me - he was my best friend after all.
In case you are wondering, I was asking him to help me in my mission "Operation boyfriend". Of course I couldn't find a boyfriend all by myself so I was asking Xavier to be my matchmaker and help me with absolutely everything in my mission. Right now, we were in Xavier's room, sitting on his bed.
Xavier sighed. "There's Jeremy Clark from our English class. He's a good lad", he suggested. Hmmm...Jeremy Clark wasn't that bad looking. He was actually pretty good - I'm talking about his personality. But I couldn't see him holding my hand or kissing me. I just couldn't. It looked odd.
I shook my head. Xavier thought for a moment and suggested again,"What about Ben Hawke?"
"Ben? Is he even gay?"
"He's bi."
My eyes shone with hope. Ben was an average academic student and played football. He was muscular, good looking and currently single!
"But how do I approach him? I've talked only once with him...when I spilled my juice on his favourite jersey...", my ears turned red as I remembered that day. It had been such an embarrassing moment. He had yelled at me for ruining his favourite jersey while I had apologised. He forgave me a week later through a note - "I forgive you for ruining my favourite jersey. I got a new one which is better." Just like that. Awkward.
"Hmmm...", Xavier muttered as the wheels in his mind started turning, a plan already brewing. He suddenly stood up and exclaimed,"I got it!"
I grinned as he confided his plan to me. It sounded good. Yes, maybe I would finally have a boyfriend!
