"Do you guys know any family members of hers?" The nurse asked both me and the man. We were forced to sit in the waiting room so the doctors could work on her.
"N-no." The man spoke with a shakey voice. I shook my head.
"What about her name?" The nurse asked again.
"Yu Mijoon." The man beside me spoke. I didn't bother to question how he knew.
"Here. You can find stuff in this.." The man held the notebook up to the nurse. "She has personal numbers in here."
The nurse thanked the man and took the notebook, walking off.
We both sat there, waiting for a sign.
Any sign. Everyone was stressed. I looked around at the other people waiting.
"What's your name?" The man beside me asked. I flinched when he spoke.
"Hyuna. You?"
"Seokjin... Jin."
That's the only thing we said to each other.
How did he meet this girl? How'd he get the notebook? How could a human being run someone over and not bother to see if they're ok?
I have so many questions.

It's been an hour now. Neither Jin or I spoke to eachother. It was tense between us.
Someone rushed into the hospital freaking out.
"Oh my god I just got your voice mail! Where's my baby?! Is she ok? Is Mijoon gonna be ok?!" She cried out to the receptionist. A man soon walked in and stood beside her. Jin and I assumed that they were her parents.
The receptionist told the woman to wait by us since we were waiting for the same news.
The woman looked at us weird.
Jin stood up and bowed to her. I did the same.
"We..." Jin held his breath.
I decided to finish off his sentence.
"We witnessed the accident. He was going to meet her and I called the ambulance." I clutched the end of my shirt in my hands. I felt so bad.
The woman began walking towards us. She and her husband sat down next to us. Jin and I sat back down, too.
"Thank you for called the ambulance.." The woman mumbled from next to me.
"It's what I had to do.." I bit my lip.
I don't even know why I came. I should've just stayed at the shop.
But I hope the girl is ok.
My phone started to ring. I quickly pulled it out and walked outside so I wouldn't disturb anyone.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Is everything ok?" It was Bak. I took a deep breath in.
"We haven't got news yet. I'll call you when you need to pick me up. I gotta go." I hung up on Bak before he could answer. I didn't feel like talking to anyone. I turned to walk back in.
"Hyuna. They just called her parents into another room. We're going to get news." Jin stood in between the hospital doors. He was smiling. I haven't seen him smile since when he bought the flowers.
Speaking of flowers, he still had the ones he bought from me.
Jin and I walked back into the waiting room and sat down. We grew impatient. I started to tap my fingers on my knee.
"I should've warned her.. I saw it coming and I didn't even say anything.." Jin mumbled from beside me. His tone was upset.
"It's not your fault.." I spoke. He shook his head.
"I could've prevented it at least. I hate myself.." He put his face into his hands.
"Don't say that. There's nothing we could do about it. You think Superman is going to come out of nowhere and move the truck? We're not god." I folded my arms. I heard him let out a  small laugh. I smiled a bit.
My smile faded when we heard a loud sob. Jin and I both looked up and saw the mother and father walking out from around a corner. The mother was crying. Not a cry of relief, a cry of despair.
Jin and I stood up. We saw the nurse gesture us towards her. Jin immediately walked forward as I hesitated.

We sat in an office. A doctor sat behind the desk as Jin and I sat in front of it. The atmosphere was tense.
"We.. Uh- it's been a couple of hours since we brought Mijoon in. We.. tried. We really did. It happened immediately. She- she didn't make it. Her neck was broke and the blood couldn't flow-" The doctor was interrupted by a loud cry. Jin was crying. I bit my lip, trying to hold in a sob.
I shouldn't be crying. I don't even know the girl.

The doctor left us in his office. We just sat there, upset. I didn't know what to do. Jin was still crying. I can't help him. I feel useless.
I spotted a tissue box and I grabbed it, giving it to Jin. He took our a tissue and wiped his face.
"I'm sorry.. I can't do anything.." I mumbled. He responded with a sniff.
I took out my phone and started to dial Bak's number. It rang a few times before he picked it up.
"Come by the hospital.. I wanna go home." I mumbled. Jin's cries we're probably heard on the line since Bak pointed it out.
"What happened? Is everything ok? I'll be there in a few minutes. Tell me on the way home." Bak quickly hung up.
"Can you take me too? I don't wanna he here anymore.." Jin finally spoke. It made me jump a bit because I haven't heard him speak in a while.
"Of course." I answered.

We stood outside waiting for Bak to arrive.
"I feel so useless.. I can't do anything to her family or her.." Jin whimpered. I looked down at the ground.
"Don't think that. The most you could do is share remorse.."
I looked over at him. He still had the flowers in his hand. They looked mangled.
"Keep those alive, ok? You can put them on her grave.." I nearly cried when I said that. I bit my lip.
Finally, Bak's car pulled up.
I opened the passenger side door.
"Can we take him home?" I asked. Bak looked over at Jin, then back at me.
"Of course."

We sat in the quiet car. Jin wasn't crying anymore.
"I had to close the flower shop down when you left." Bak spoke, breaking the silence. I didn't answer. I stared blankly out the window. He tried to speak to me again but I ignored him. I just wanted to get home.
"I know you wanted to help but.." Bak mumbled, "but- you don't have to come to work tomorrow."
I glanced over at Bak who was looking up at the rear view mirror at Jin. I bit my lip.
I don't think I'll ever go back to work again.
