Chapter 16 - New Moon

"Let me take a picture of you guys. Our mom wants us to put together, like, a big scrapbook full of memories" Bella said awkwardly. "Get in it Ell" Jessica said grabbing my arm and pulling me next to her. "I take them, I'm not in them" Angela said trying to walk away. "No,no,no. Come here" Eric said wrapping his arm around her and pulling her back in.

"You'll photoshop this if my nose looks big right?" Jessica said causing me to roll my eyes. "Don't worry. I'm in the picture no one will be looking at you guys" Eric joked and I giggled before smiling for the picture as Bella took the photo. "It's good" She said looking at the photo. I saw a car pull in and smiled when I saw it was Edwards car.

"Oh, good" Eric said sarcastically. "Cullen's here" Mike said bluntly and Bella turned around. "Yay" Eric continued sarcastically. "We'll talk to you later" Jessica said before Bella and I watched our boyfriends get out of the car. I gave a small smile as Jaspers eyes met mine. He made it to me and I wrapped my arms around his neck as he hugged me.

"Happy birthday my love" He said pulling away and handing me a Tiffany & Co box. I gasped and playfully glared at him. "Jas, I told you I didn't want any presents" I whined and he smiled. "I couldn't help myself" He said and I gently pulled on the white ribbon opening the box to see a necklace that had a heart key pendant around it.

"Call me cheesy or old fashioned but when I saw this I thought of you. A key is a small thing that unlocks something. You were the one to unlock my happiness" Jasper said taking the necklace out of the box. I turned around lifting my hair and he placed the necklace around my neck. Once he clasped it I turned back around and pecked his lips before placing the box inside my bag.

"Let's head to class" Jasper said grasping my hand in his and I nodded. "Ell, someone is here to see you" Edward said and Jasper tensed beside me. I turned and saw Jacob standing there. A smile instantly went to my face. "Ell, Bella" He said with a small smile on his face. "Jacob" Bella said smiling. Jasper walked to Edward as Jacob approached Bella and I.

"Hello biceps. You know, anabolic steroids new really bad for you" I said looking at his now apparent biceps causing him to laugh. "Well I'm just filling out Ell. You know it wouldn't seem so drastic if we hung out more" He said and I bit my bottom lip nodding. "You should switch schools. You can come hang out with the palefaces" Bella said.

"I'm alright. I prefer the Rez schools exclusivity. They let any old riff riff into this place" Jacob joked back. "I see. Then why are you slummin it?" I countered back smugly. "I was juts buying a part for the Rabbit. You two should really come take a ride when it's done" Jacob said and I nodded. "Is it fast?" I questioned. "Um..it's decent" he said chuckling causing Bella and I to giggle.

"I'm kidding" I replied. "Ok. Good. Hey, happy birthday you two" Jacob said and Bella made a face. "Careful Jacob. Bella is a bit sensitive to the thought of ageing" I joked and she playfully glared at me as Jacob gave a chuckle. "Your dad told my dad so..." Jacob explained. "Yeah of course he did" Bella said, annoyance hinting in her voice slightly.

"I saw these the other day and thought of the two of you. They catch bad dreams" Jacob said holding up two dream catchers. "Wow they're beautiful" I said as Jacob handed them to us. "That's kind of perfect. Um... thank you" Bella said smiling. "No problem" Jacob replied before looking over at Jasper and Edward.

"Umm good seeing you guys" He said hugging Bella then me. "Yeah, I'll see you later" Bella said before Jacob nodded at us and walked back into the woods. I slipped the dream catcher into my bag and walked over to Jasper taking his hand in mine as we walked into school with Edward and Bella by our side. "So its ok for Jacob to get you a gift but not me?" Jasper joked and I rolled my eyes.

"First of all, I didn't know he was getting me something and second of all you being here in my life is the only gift I need" I said looking at him and he nodded. "Ell, Bella!" a light voice called and we both turned to see Alice jump the railing to a small staircase landing swiftly. "Happy birthday you guys" She said hugging me then Bella. "Shhh!" Bella scolded as the bell rang.

"I thought we said no presents" Bella whined as Alice handed us two boxes. "I've already seen you two open them and guess what? You love it" She chirped happily as Bella and I chuckled awkwardly. "You're going to wear it tonight. Our place" Alice said and I groaned a little. "Come on please? It'll be fun" She begged. I felt a feeling of defeat and gave in.

"Ok""Alright" Bella and I said at the same time. "Great! Ok I'll see you at seven" She said before skipping away with Pierre. The feeling wore off and I instantly knew. I turned and slapped jasper on the arm. "Jasper!" I scolded and he smirked. "Jasper. No fair with the mood control thing" Bella complained and Jasper chuckled.

"Sorry Bella. She begged me to do it" Jasper defended and I rolled my eyes. "Can't trust vampires. Trust me" Edward said as we walked to class. "You're hilarious Edward. I'm dying with laughter" I said sarcastically as Jasper wrapped his arm around my waist chuckling. Jasper and I made our way to History where we watched a documentary on the history of the royal family.

Jasper and I were sat at the back holding hands as we watched. "Why does Bella hate today so much?" Jasper asked quietly as the teacher was drifting to sleep. "Because she feels older than Edward despite the fact that he is a 109 year old man frozen in a 17 year olds body" I explained and he nodded. "Luckily for me, you are 19" I added and he chuckled.

"Technically I am 147 years old" Jasper said and I scrunched my face. "Don't ever tell me that again" I giggled causing him to chuckle. "Sometimes I forget how old you really are" I said and he nodded. "One day you will be the same" He said and I nodded. "I just hope the day I become one of you isn't when I'm like 35" I said. "What's the problem with that?" He said.

"Umm I will look around the same age as Esme dating a younger guy. That would just look wrong and you wouldn't be attracted to me anymore" I said shaking my head repulsed and he chuckled. "Darlin, I would love you even if you were a 90 year old woman" He said and I sighed smiling.
