Mcsm fanfic clichés that need. to. die.

These are some fanfic clichés in minecraft story mode fanfics that need. to. die. fast.

1. Stories being all about shipping. No plot? No pretty descriptions? No depth? Nope! Just people being out of character and blushing literally every other sentence. You guys - this is Minecraft : Story Mode. You know that, right? It's an ADVENTURE GAME. 

I totally respect people wanting to put a different spin on a story and have it be a different genre, but suddenly turning an adventure humor choice-story into a straight up romance? I can get shipping in small amounts throughout the book, but you guys - literally there are entire books were (usually,) Jesse or Jess go on a date with our lovely ocelot bean, they get married...

..that's it.

(though this applies to all ships but particularly this ship seems to have that type of story structure.) But this IS my least favorite cliche that NEEDS TO DIE IN MCSM STORIES NOW.

2. Everyone uses the whole 'Jess is female Jesse and Jesse is normal guy Jesse.' thing. It's annoying, please stop. I think I'm more annoyed with the fact that they're always twins just because of the fact that they need to ship them with other characters more than the fact that these are their names.

Why not June and Jake? Juanpa and Jillian? Or just not have them be twins. At all!?

3. WHY. DO. PEOPLE. ALWAYS. WRITE. THE FIRST. JESSE. What about all the pastel and adorable S2 Jesse's! What about the really pretty other Jesse's! Also they always describe her as having, 'raven black hair and emerald green eyes.' 

Stop, please. For the sanity of everyone here.

Use other Jesses.

4. Not using the pretty pastel S2 Jesses. Yep, I'm saying this twice.

5. Those insulting Ask Or Dare books that include the author and should be a fun and interesting and actually genuinely fun-to-read and unique book! But no! Because the first question/dare is almost always, 'kiss your crush.'
Followed by something embarrassing probably Magnus has to do, then a 7 minutes in heaven.

6. When literally everyone says, 'I ship it!' or, 'otp!' when they shouldn't know what that is???

7. Making Jesse and/or Petra a damsel in distress. This one in particular really irks me a heck of a lot because these two are arguably the most kick-butt out of the group and can easily save themselves. Sure, Petra can get too head-strong and aggressive and forget to think and Jesse's an awkward bean who dosen't know the first thing about defeating villains, but that's what makes them compelling characters!

if you have them suddenly become damsels in distress, leading Jesse and Lukas to save the day and I hate this so much. I've read stories where Petra is drugged, tied up, kidnapped, beaten in fights, kidnapped again, gets her house broken into, and so many more things, and she acts like a weakling! Then Jesse saves her, she says she's scared, and then they make out and he cuddles her to sleep and blah blah blah help me.

End me.

Actually end my life pfffff.

8. Jesse being really confident. Like, too confident. Also her main thing is just being love-struck for Lukas. Just - what happened to the awkward but kind Jesse that can't really talk to people well and is super awkward but a fun adventurer and a good friend?
