Chapter 4

The launch star was used, flinging the three of you into space. You landed onto a sort of sandy planet while rocks that looked meteors with a red crystal in the middle. A luma chirped in a sad tone causing you to pat it's head, you really didn't like how sad the luma was.

"Aww its okay little guy. Let's just call it bad luck." You cooed as the luma brightened up from his conflicted mood. The two brothers raised an eyebrow behind you. "You can understand them?" Mario questioned, his eyes held a look of surprise as Luigi's held surprise as well.

You nodded a small smile forming on your lips. "Yeah. You guys don't?" You immediately took their silence as a yes. They watched confusingly as you picked up two colorful bits and held them out towards them. "Here you should be able to understand the lumas now."

Luigi slowly grabbed the colorful bit from your hand. He studied it, carefully before looking back up at you he didn't seem to understand. Mario didn't either he kept staring at the bit all while turning it over in his hand.

(L/N) floated around the two brothers chirping assuring sentences to them; but they didn't understand they didn't use the star bits yet. "You need to eat the star bit to understand the lumas. Don't worry the star bits are actually just rock candy that's why they enjoy eating these."

The Mario Bros. shared glances with each other, seemingly hesitant about eating the star bit. They took a bite their eyes shining with a sense of happiness. "There, now you should be able to understand lumas now."

"There are five launch star pieces somewhere." The luma commented. "But be careful about those rolling rocks, if you hit the red spot maybe it'll blow up." Mario took this information as a thoughtful look went towards the red spot on the rocks. He didn't notice that you and Luigi went to gather the launch star pieces.

Quickly you picked up the fourth launch star piece and found Luigi who was holding his head in exasperation. It seemed that the final launch star piece was in the path of a rolling rock and it seemed that Mario could destroy it.

Without hesitation Luigi ran in the path of the rolling rock; his speed quickly disappearing as he struggled to move away from the threat behind him. The green man and the threat disappeared under the planet leaving you on the edge of your seat in hopes he was alright.

THUMP!

A gasp left your parted lips. "LUIGI!" You yelled, tears welled up within the corner of your (e/c) eyes. That sound; it felt as if your worst fears were confirmed...

"I appreciate you worrying about me Princess!" Luigi replied walking from under the planet and holding the last piece in his hand. Mario followed behind, it seems he saved Luigi.

The gold luma flew gracefully towards you and Luigi taking the pieces out of your hands with a grateful look. He fixed the launch star, it giving off a shine to it as it slowly turned. "Thanks for the help (Y/N) and Luigi! Now you can use the launch star. Be safe!"

One after another you used the launch star; it looks like you were blasting off again.
