Music blared into my overly sensitive ears, and I absentmindedly wondered how everyone here could handle it.  Seeing them collapse onto couches, furiously grind into each other, or get into random fights, I realized it was probably because they're drunk.  Werewolves tend to be even crazier than humans when we get drunk.  Parties can prove to be... interesting.

As we entered the booming house, Tyler's arm wrapped protectively around my waist and guided me through the masses of people.  "Did I mention that you look amazing tonight?"

He had to lean in and speak in my ear in order for me to hear, and his warm breath made me shiver.  "Yes, about seventy times.  You're acting weird, Ty." I looked up to see his reaction, but he had already wiped his face of all emotion. Weird.

"Guys!"

I turned and saw that Lindsey had finally entered with George.  Even though Lin and I had gotten ready together, we decided to take different cars so that Tyler and I looked more like a couple. They stumbled a bit walking in, and I could tell Lindsey had already started drinking before she even arrived.  That's my best friend for you.

"What's wrong dude?"

Tyler snapped out of it as George punched him in the arm.  He simply shook his head, and his arm tightened around my waist. "Nothing, dude."

Suddenly feeling uncomfortable, I slipped out of his grip and grabbed Lindsey by the arm. "Let's go dance!" I cheered, dragging her towards the big group of people jumping and grinding. We instantly acclamated, and soon found ourselves in the center of the crowd.  Tyler and George hadn't followed us, which I thought was strange.  They must be talking. Maybe George can get something out of him.

After starting to feel sweaty and having numerous Were-boys try to grind on us, Lindsey and I decided to call it quits and get a drink.

"God, I'm pretty sure Were-boys are worse than girls when they get drunk,"

We wiggled our way towards the back porch, and passed a group of people surrounding two girls.  All we could hear was shrieking and extensions being ripped off heads.

"I might have to disagree with you on that one," I laughed as we made it outside and towards the cooler.  At parties, I preferred staying sober and out of crazy drunk wolf stories.  Besides, I can have fun without being drunk.

Popping open a can of Cola, Lindsey and I sat on the bench to catch our breath. "Hey girls," I heard Tyler call, and was pleased to see that he seemed to be back to normal.  That, or he was drunk.

Taking a seat next to me, uncomfortably close, he wrapped an arm around my shoulders.  "You smell so good," He murmured, nuzzling his face into my hair.  I giggled and a shiver ran up my spine.

Not the good kind of shiver.

Shut up.

Lindsey was caught up in flirtation with a cute Were-boy, so I was left to myself to fend with tipsy, flirty Tyler.  We hadn't even talked to Kian yet, and I was already finding this whole relationship thing to be way harder than I thought. Sighing, I ran a hand through his hair and hummed absentmindedly.  A wave of tiredness washed over me, and I cursed myself for being so lame.

Tyler started running his fingers up and down the spine of my dress. I bit my lip, and for the first time ever, I didn't want to be near Tyler anymore.

Because you have a mate. Kian.

I internally growled at my wolf.  He's my best friend.  This is all just a completely platonic scheme to hurt Kian.  I looked around, expecting to see Kian glaring us down, but he was no where in sight.  Is he even at this party? Why is Tyler touching me like this then?
