Love and Troubles (Hiccstrid)

Chapter 9:

Hiccup:

The gang and I were running towards the Great Hall. My mother helps me with the chief work. We burst in. My mother and Gobber, were the only ones there!

"Mom, we need to talk!" I said as I walked over to my mom.

"What's wrong?" she asked curiously.

"Read this!" I said as I handed her the crumpled letter.

My mother started to read it. When she was finished she tore it up and threw it in the fire.

"That is not how Berkians should act towards their children!" she yelled.

"What are we going to do Valka?" Gobber asked.

"Skye's parents will not be our allies! They are now Berk enemies and they will be arrested for the highest order of treson!" she yelled as we walked out of the Great Hall.

"Where is Skye now?" she asked me.

"I don't know, but Astrid ran after her!" I answered.

"No one should ever have to go through that!" my mother said seriously.

The next day:

Astrid and Skye were not back yet! I wonder where they went? I was walking around Berk, trying to clear my mind. When I walked past the forest, I heard rustling in the bushes. When I looked closer, I noticed it was Astrid and Skye!

"Where have you been! I was getting seriously worried!" I said as I ran towards them.

"We were in the forest!" Astrid said as she held Skye's hand.

"How did you survive? It was pouring yesterday!" I asked confused.

"We have our secrets!" Skye said.

I felt awful for her! Her face was pale and her eyes were red and puffy. She had tear stains going down her cheeks. Astrid had tear stains as well. The three of us walked to Astrid's house. When we got there Astrid put Skye to bed and poured some yak-milk for herself. We sat on the couch.

"She's crushed Hiccup!" Astrid said.

"I would think so after reading something like that!" I replied.

"What am I going to do?" she said as she curled up next to me.

"The only thing you can do is be the best guardian ever to her," I said as I wrapped my arms around her.

"I mean how am I going to take care of my cousin as my own child? I don't even know the first thing about raising a teenager!" She looked at me with worry in her eyes.

"You will do a great job! You are Astrid Hofferson! The most wonderful warrior and person in the world!" I said as I tried to lift her spirits.

"You think so?"

"I think absolutely!" I said as I gave her a kiss on her forehead.

"Thanks babe!" she as she gave me a kiss.

The next day:

I was walking to the academy. When I got there, I set up the lesson. By then Fishlegs had arrived.

"How is Skye doing?" he asked sympathetically.

"Astrid said that she is crushed!"

"Where is Astrid by the way?"

"She's not coming. The two of them are not going to be training for a while!"

"Well that makes sense!"

Just then the twins and Snotlout came in arguing again.

"What's wrong now?" I asked irritatedly.

"Snotlout said that he has the strength of ten men!" Tuffnut said.

"Well it's true!" Snotlout remarked.

"In your dreams!" Ruffnut yelled.

"Guys, stop arguing! We need to start training." I said as I walked towards the equipment.

Suddenly Chevonne came in on Blaze. She joined in on the training. Afterwards we all went for dragon racing. It was just a practice since Astrid wasn't there. I won, Fishlegs came second and Chevonne came third. When we finished, I went over to Astrid's house to check up on them. When I got there Astrid opened the door.

"Hey Hiccup," she said not looking too happy.

"What's wrong babe?"

"Skye won't do anything! She won't eat, drink, fly! I am really worried!" she said as she hugged me.

"She will be okay! She has you! She doesn't need anyone else!" I said looking into her beautiful blue eyes.

Skye then came down the stairs. She looked terrible. Her brown hair was in nots, her face was stained red and she walked slumped forward.

"Oh my baby, are you okay?" Astrid said running over to her cousin and embracing her. Where did my baby come from?

"Yeah I'm fine," Skye said as she hugged back.

"That's good!" Astrid said as she let out a little smile.

"I'm going to go get some more yak-milk," Skye said.

"First get dressed then I will go with you!" Astrid said.

"Okay," Skye replied as she dashed up the stairs.

"Well look at you Astrid!" I said as walked over to her.

"What?"

"You look like her mother!"

"Really?"

"Yip and she seems to like you more!" I said as I gave her a kiss on her forehead.

When Skye came down I left to go to a meeting.

Astrid:

When Skye came down Hiccup left for a meeting and Skye and I went to the store.
