WAVE 1

Sirens

"Get your ass up and surf with us, Marina!" sigaw ni Mapple.

I stand up and balanced myself as I owned the big wave that washed every other surfer that is trying to battle with me.

The ocean is my home and no one could ever beat me when it comes to surfing. I won four back to back championships on the national surfing competition and I am one of the most anticipated athlete in our country.

Water gives me comfort.

Next month, I will be competing in the international surfing competition in Miami, Florida, that's why I'm training hard each and everyday. Exercising, eating clean and being physically and mentally stable and being motivated is what keeps me going.

"Marina! Umilag ka!" Rinig kong sigaw ni Mapple.

My eyes widen in surprise when I saw a jet ski with no one aboard fastly approaching my way. But I was way too slow, it bumped in to me and the waters ate me until everything was numb and black.

"No! Please gawin niyo ang lahat!" I heard Mapple crying. "Please... please," hagulgol nito.

Slowly, I opened my eyes and the white ceiling of the room, the sound of the aircon and the murmur crying and sniffing is what welcomed me.

"Mapple. . ." nanghihina kong sabi.

She hugged my tight and she burried her face in my chest, crying like there is no tomorrow.

"M-marina... I swear to all the Demons on hell that I'll find who ever was responsible for that jet ski then I'll offer his bones to the monsters in the sea..." She said crying her heart out.

Kumunot ang noo ko. "Ano? Bakit? I'm fine..." sabi ko sa kanya.

Until I noticed that all of my fellow athletes is inside with the room with me. Faces covered with worry, pity and sympathy.

"The doctor said that your right ankle has been dislocated while the muscles on your left leg is paralyzed and it will be hard for you to recover..." mahina nitong sabi.

I felt like my whole world collapsed with what she just said. Only then I realized that I can't move my leg left and my right foot is raised and tied in a string.

"Don't make it sound hopeful, Mapple! Just get straight to the point! She cannot surf ever again, and her life is now over!" Sparkle said and smirked. "Tapos ka na, Marina!"

"Sparkle!" Night shouted.

Sparkle is the second greatest surfer after me. She hates me because she thinks that I took everything away from her.

"Tama siya..." I blankly said.

My life is now over. I can't surf anymore. Wala. Wala na akong ibang magagawa pa.
