Twelve (The Escape ) >>

I gave Skylar a huge hug the next morning trying to comfort her nerves “you’ll do great and hey Ashton will be here any minute to say goodbye” I said pulling away from her giving her a soft smile. We have all gathered in Michael and Ashton’s cell to say goodbye to Skylar and to prepare for the escape.

“Hello? Calum I don’t think they’re here yet I can’t hear anything” said Ashton from the door way sporting is black sunglasses he was wearing yesterday “Ashton!” shouted Skylar running over to him and almost knocking him over as she wrapped her arms around his neck placing kisses everywhere she could manage to reach on his face.

Calum closed the door behind them and walked over to me handing me a key that would give me access to anywhere I needed to go and a box of matches “where did you get this?” I whispered referring to the key “Luke was very kind and handed it over” he answered bending down to my level seeing as he was like 6’3 and I’m only 5’4.

“I hate to break up the love fest guys but it’s time for a certain someone to leave and start a fire so we all better say bye to her just in case she dies” announced Michael from the wall on the far end of the room, I shot him a glare that he returned with a short smile. “Be safe” Calum said from next to me giving me a pat on the back.

“Okay when the alarm goes off I’ll run to you guys and then we’re out of here right?” I asked the group, they all nodded and I took in a deep breath before exiting the room “Okay get Skylar out of here and Ashton ready we have to go to” I heard Calum order as I began to walk down the hall.

I unlocked the door that lead to a room that was full of pipes, I pushed the door open and looked for the one that read “Kitchen Gas Line” finding it easily seeing as it was in big gold writing.

“Yeah the blonde one is leaving today”

“She was kind of sexy, her legs man offt would I like to spread them open” said a pair of voices coming down the corridor boots echoing through the halls. Guards. I jumped inside the room and closed the door quickly then crouched down so they wouldn’t see me through the glass window like Kamila’s office.

“Did you hear that?” one asked the other stopping right outside the door “It came from in here” he continued peering in, I cupped a hand over my mouth to quiet my breathing. Then the door flew open and the gaurds looked down at me in shock “Oh shit!” one said swinging it close and pressing his back to it.

“What the fuck are we going to do with that?” he shouted, the other one stepped forward and slammed what looked like a metal bar between the door handle and giving it a jiggle “She can’t get out now… C’mon let’s go get Kamila” he said and the other guard joined him jogging down the hallway to fetch the bitch herself.

“Fuck” I groaned, I knew I was running out of time but then a light in the top right hand corner of the room caught my attention. A Security Monitor.

The screen was split into 4 smaller sections each showing different parts of the Asylum. The kitchen, Activity Room, The hospital wing and the front entrance where I could see Skylar on the top of the stair case and a car way, way, way down the end of the dirt road which I’m guessing is a family member coming to collect her.

I looked back to the door and bit the side of my cheek hard tasting the metallic taste of blood when I bit down too hard. “You’re gonna have to break the glass Raven, you can do it c’mon” I said to myself. I made a fist with my hand and pressed it to the glass then drawing it back and punching through it making is shatter and blood spew out of my hand. I slipped my arm through as far as I could go and grabbed the metal bar and pulling it out from between the handle and the door releasing myself.
