I speed walk as fast as I can towards my locker. How could he do that? It was so nice…no, it was terrible. Oh, who am I kidding, this boy was freaking made for me. I open my locker door and look into the mirror I installed last year, and I groan at my reflection. My cheeks are flushed, and despite the fact that the kiss was about five seconds tops, my lips are tingly and swollen. Great, just great. Frustrated, I take out all of my belongings.
Walking towards my next lesson, I look at my planner to see where I have to go. Physics - another lesson where I sit right next to Blake. No thank you. I walk out the building and head towards Nathan’s car in the parking lot. Ah…I have no keys.
‘Nathan. Hey, Nathan,’ I say through the mind link.
I wait for a response.
‘Nathan. Heeeeeey. Naaaaathaaaaan. NATHAN!' I mentally yell.
‘What is it, Kali?!’ Nathan says finally. His voice sounds frustrated and angry, as if he’s not happy that I’m talking to him.
‘Ungrateful prick,’ I mumble.
‘What?!’ he screams into my head.
‘Nothing, actually not nothing…I need to go home, and I kind of need your car. Can you…umm…ride with someone from the pack?’ I plead.
‘Fine. The keys are in my locker. You know the combination. Bye,’ he says, ushering me to quickly get out of his mind.
‘Why are you trying to get rid of me, Nathan? I want to have a nice long conversation with you,’ I think to him, elongating the ‘long’.
‘Because I’m taking a piss, Kali!’ he yells quickly. I can almost see him blushing now.
‘But it’s fine. We all pee, don’t we?’ I think to him as I head back into the building.
‘Kali, I’m in the urinal. I’m next to a whole bunch of guys who are grabbing their wee-wees. Don’t you think it’s a little weird for me to stand there staring into space whilst holding onto mine?’ he asks me in a patronising tone. I feel sorry for him so I leave when I get to his locker. I enter the pin and take out his car keys.
I run downstairs so that I get past the end of lunch rumble. When I get to Nathans car, I let out a loud sigh of relief. I touch my still tingling lips, before driving off.

Once parked into the driveway, I tip toe pointlessly into my room. If anyone who can get me in trouble is in the house, then they’ll probably be able to sniff me out. But hey, it’s worth a try.
When I get inside and manage to sniff out an empty house, I become calmer and casually walk upstairs to my room. I sit on my bed for a while, shifting constantly, unable to find a comfortable position.
‘Let’s go for a run, Kali,’ my wolf says to me. I nod in reply, grinning like a fool. It’s been so long since I went for a run just for the sake of it, and I only just realised I’ve been craving the feeling.
