Wheezing, he weakly lifted his own arm up, water rising from the ground under them to violently shoot against the man, knocking him to the ground with a thud, the air from his lungs escaping him.

Virgil gasped, coughing and spluttering as he sucked and heaved in air again, on all fours as he let his burning lungs relax, the room silent once more.

Remembering that he was still in the room with the man that tried to kill him, Virgil shot his head up, seeing the man stare at the water that surrounded him, his eyes slowly traveling up to meet Virgil's, but this time they weren't silver, and instead a light brown. "I'm sorry" the man whispered, rushing forward to help him stand but Virgil backed away, water quickly surrounding him as it helped him to stand up. Holding his arms forward, Patton backed away, body shaking as he did.

"I-I don't mean any harm-!"

"Oh, really? Well, you tried to kill me, and I'd say that's pretty harmful" Virgil scoffed, the man whimpering and hugging himself, looking away as Virgil let the water hang around beside him incase he needed to attack again.

"Y-you're powerful too?" The man hiccuped, looking at Virgil, letting the water-controlling man notice the tears that formed, ready to spill down his pale white cheeks.

"Obviously" He murmured, crossing his arms. "So are you" he added, the man nodding slightly and looking down. "I'm Patton" he spoke softly, eyes still glued downwards as he waited for the man opposite him to either leave, try and kill him back, or respond.

"Virgil" the man replied, surprising Patton. Both men caught the others gaze and kept it locked, the room falling into silence, waiting for one of them to speak again. A little time passed, Patton's arms hugging himself further, feeling a little awkward and guilty at his previous actions towards the man who was only trying to help. It wasn't entirely his fault, recently he hasn't been able to control himself due to-

His thoughts were cut short when he noticed the water that spun around Virgil in a defensive stance slowly began to trickle down onto the floor, seeping through the wood until most of it was gone, leaving the wood below them a darker shade, stained with water until it would inevitably dry.

"Come with me" Virgil suggested, retying the sleeves of his jacket around his waist, the purple t-shirt he wore perfect against his tanned skin. Tanned from the days under the sun, Patton presumed. Quickly re-focusing on what he said, Patton's lips parted a little in shock, head cocked to the side as he watched Virgil gesture to him to follow before leaving the room he's been sitting in for a few days.

Finding his legs moved for him, Virgil halted at the top step, but it wasn't intentional. Looking down, he noticed a ring of...cloud? Circling around his waist, stopping him from moving. Turning to question Patton about this, his mouth shut when he stared at the ring of water that swirled around his own waist, his light brown eyes staring at it in awe, a small smile lifting his facial features, Virgil found himself to prefer it to his once solemn look.

"P-" Virgil yelped, nearly tripping as the "cloud ring" tugged him forward, the same happening to Patton until the two were inches before each other, chuckling nervously and watching the two rings form into one.

"I'm confused.." Patton whispered, arms raised a little so they wouldn't brush against the ring, looking up at Virgil to see if he knew what was going on. "Don't look at me" Virgil shrugged, both their eyes focused on the ring until it slowly faded, leaving the two inches from each other, blushing deeply before jumping away, Virgil coughing awkwardly while walking back to the staircase.

"Have you left anything here?" Virgil questioned, already halfway down as Patton hurried after him, deciding to forget about what just happened. Both men squinted as they walked back to the bright land outside the house, waiting until their eyes got used to the sudden light.
