Just as I got into my room to lay down from embarrassment, it started lightly drizzling. very pleasant. I put on some short shorts and an oversized tee, a light jacket and a scarf. When I walked outside, the rain lightly fell on my skin. It never rained like this back home, so quiet and nice. Even through all the noise of the bustling streets the rain prevails. I heard a door close and an umbrella open.
Turning to my side I saw Mycroft walk outside and proceed to walking right into the car that was five feet in front of him.
"What? Are you scared three drops of rain are going to get on you while you walk to your car? Is that why you need an umbrella? Mommy doesn't want you to catch a cold does she." I giggled and told him that it was only a joke.
Looking slightly annoyed he glared at me. "Y/N, why don't you get in the car. I want to talk to you, just more in private. I do have the power to blow up your room you know."
"Is that a threat?" I made a sarcastic gasp. "You want to know why I know you won't do that? It's because one, your brother lives in the same building. And you might be thinking that you'll just do it when he's out, but, there are also witnesses here. So if it does happen to blow up, we'll all know it's you. And something tells me that no matter how hard you try this one person won't be bribed to keep quiet."
"And who would that be? I don't seem to see anyone else around."
"I thought you would be as smart as your brother, perhaps he's the one who got all the brains in the family. Earlier Sherlock warned me that you would try this, so I came prepared, and I will do this every single time you try to get me to go with you." I held up my phone which had been recording the entire conversation. "Oh, whoops. Just sent that to John too. Bye Mycroft. I have work to do." I walked back into my room leaving him standing there scowling.
"Bravo. Honestly I'm impressed anyone who has the guts to stand up to him two times in a row, but I guess you don't really know what he's capable of." I jumped back to see none other than Sherlock. "John's making us host a Christmas party in a couple days. Earlier on I deducted that you only play the piano on holiday. Accompany me at the party? I'll play violin. And just by the way, I'm not exactly asking." I could feel my cheeks go rosey just at the sight of him. Why did I have to have a hot neighbor?
"Umm... okay fine. Let me get my keyboard. I brought it with me from America." As I walked away and went into my apartment when I thought he was out of earshot I added, "Just stop being so fucking hot. Why do I get so flustered around you? I didn't ask to start crushing on my neighbor..." I went over to the corner of my room to where my keyboard was set up. "Hey Sherlock. Can you help me lift this thing to your apartment?"
When I turned around I saw him looking away from me, his cheeks a light pink shade. Shit. "Oh. Yea here let me help you." He walked past me and picked up the keyboard leaving me to get the stand.
"Hey Sherlock... just pretend you didn't hear what I said earlier okay? Please.." He nodded and averted his eyes again as he walked out. I grabbed the piano stand and ran after him. Did Sherlock Holmes really get flustered because of me?
When we got upstairs and finished setting up the keyboard we picked a couple of Christmas songs to play together. Though it was really awkward the music helped to lighten the mood. Soon we were making lovely melodies and drinking in between songs. Finally it was time to take a break for food.
"Ah yes, food, my one true love. That must be why I can't get a boyfriend, they think I'm already engaged to dinner." I laughed at my own stupid jokes and went into their kitchen to see what they had.
"Why would they not date you? Are you not the ideal girl for most? Pretty, smart, whatever else people look for." He realized what he had said and we both cleared our throats at the same time. I started to laugh.
"Hey, what do you want to eat? You don't have many ingredients in here but I'm sure Ms. Hudson has some we can use."
"Why don't we go out? Fish and chips, I have a friend who gives me free portions everytime I go there."
"Mr. Holmes, are you asking me out on a date?" I smirked at him, laughing a little.
"I.. no you just asked about food... I was giving a suggestion.."
"Haha, I was just joking! Fish and chips sounds great to me."
We walked down his stairs only to be greeted by the sound of rain which stopped as we got to the door. When we opened it we saw that it had started snowing.
"OH MY GOD YES!" I ran out and tried to catch snowflakes on my tongue as Sherlock locked up. I was having a blast, and then realized that I was still wearing shorts. Laughing at my stupidity I didn't care and just continued playing around. A cab pulled up beside me and I realized that Sherlock had hailed one for the two of us. We both got in and I started shivering. This is what I get for only coming out in a light jacket!
"Are you cold?"
"What tipped you off? Was it the fact that I was wearing shorts or was it the fact that I was shivering?" I gave him a 'just kidding' look and he smiled at me.
We sat in the cab in a comfortable silence until we got to the small place Sherlock was talking about. When he paid for the cab and we got out it was even colder than before. You could even see your breath. I shivered some more, but suddenly I felt a whole lot warmer as a coat that was far too big for me draped over my body. Looking up I saw Sherlock smile at me.
"There, now you won't be as cold."
"Oh... t-thank you." I blushed and wrapped the coat around myself. It nearly touched the floor, but I didn't care, he was sweet enough to give it to me and that's all that I could think about. I opened the door for him and as a joke said, "After you madam. Ladies first."
He chuckled slightly and went through and into the small restaurant. Once he had found us a table, who I assumed was the owner of the establishment walked over to greet us.
"Ah Sherlock my friend. I see you've brought a date with you, I'll be sure to give you you best food today!"
"Oh, um... we aren't on a date." I shyly responded to his comment.
"Giving you a jacket, sitting together, seems like a date to me!"
"We're just having dinner, she's my neighbor. Just moved in."
"Ah, I see... I'll go get you two some food!" He winked at Sherlock and walked away.
When he was gone I smiled a bit. A date with Sherlock? To me, it seems like a fantasy. But it was just dinner after all. I turned a little bit to face the window which was fogging up. I dragged my finger across it and drew a heart with a little smiley face inside of it. I watched as the figures I had drawn slowly faded away, leaving nothing but a fogged up window once again.
"Do you want your jacket back? I'm not cold anymore, thank for giving it to me in the first place though." I looked back to face him. It looked as if he was studying me, like I was some science project.
"You can keep it for now, just give it back to me one we get back home okay?"
"Oh, alright." We smiled at each other and ate our food with some nice small talk.

Well here's my second chapter of the day. So looking at my writing, all my chapters look pretty short. And I kinda feel the need to clear that up. I always write at least 1000 words in each chapter, it's because I get pretty busy and I think that's a good length to write in a short period of time. But now it's summer and I have a whole lot more time to write. So now I'm going to start to write 1500-2000 words at least in each chapter. It still won't be very long, but it'll be better. I have some ideas for the book that I'm excited to use, though some will be for the far future. Next next chapter will have the Christmas party in it, though I do have some fluff with Sherlock planned before that! Anyways, thanks for reading my loves!
