"Can I try and feed him?" I asked her, she smiled and got up off her chair
"That would be great" she said as she started to get Jack out, she told me to lean back in the chair and placed him on my chest, I had lifted my top up
"Don't worry about it if he doesn't take to it right away, it will take time" The nurse said, I smiled and she put a curtain around us so no one would see, she sat next to me and helped me make him latch on, I took a couple of try's but he eventually started to suck.
"Looks like someone was hungry" she said with a chuckled, and chuckled as well,
"I'm Laura, will you be here all the time?" I asked her, I liked her, I just hope she was going to be here to help me while he's in here
"Yes, I'm Nurse Anna, I'm little Jacks nurse while he's here and I'm also here to help you do things with him, like the first nappy" She smiled at me
"I'm glad you can help me" I said to her, we talked a little bit more about what I was in for, we laughed at funny story's she told me, I wasn't allowed to hold him that day but Anna said that I would be able to in the morning, I went to bed at 10.
I woke up at 5 in the morning and went to sit with Jack, I sat in the chair and curled up watching him sleep, I was hoping to see everyone today, I asked them not to come yesterday, I just wanted some time alone with him
"Laura" I felt someone call my name, I opened my eyes and saw Anna kneeling in front of me
"Sorry I didn't mean to fall asleep" I said to her as I sat on the chair properly, she laughed at me
"Don't be sorry, I came to wake you up because Jacks awake, did you want to hold him?" she asked me, I couldn't say anything, I was so excited
"I would love too" I said to her, she smiled back at me and got Jack out again, I put him in my arms and stoked his face
"He looks like his Uncle" I said, I felt a tear fall down, and Anna sat in front of me
"I hope that's a happy tear" she said with a sad smile
"There a bit off both, you see I lost my brother 4 months ago in a car accident, he's last words were that I was going to be a great mum" I said with a few more tears, I wiped my eyes and kept watching him
"Well at least you have you mum and dad" she said while stroking Jacks head
"Jacks the only family I have, I have no family there just really good people that let me live with them" I looked at jacks big brown eyes, I started at him till Anna got up
"I'm sorry Laura... Umm there are some people outside, do you want them to come in?" she said to me, I smiled at her
"I'm sorry, tell them they can come in" I smiled at her, she nodded her head and leaved the room
"You're going to meet some new people little man" I said to Jack who was falling asleep, he snuggled into me which made me feel warm inside, I looked at the door and saw Sara and Nick walk in with Anna
"He'll be due for a feed in two hours" Anna said to me, she smiled at Sara and Nick and walked away
"Hello dear, how are you feeling?" Sara asked me
"I feel fine, the doctors said that I can go home in a couple days, but I'll be staying in the parents room down the hall until Jack can come home" I said to them
"That's a nice name" Nick said
"Thank you, umm do you know if Alex is coming to see him?" I asked, they looked at each other
