i took closer steps

just to see your face all exhausted

and tears all dried up.

i sat

and just watched over you.

caressed your soft rose - tinted cheeks

with my hands full of guilt.

i held your hand as you continued to drift off to sleep.

don't wake up

so i could hold you a little longer.

but even if you do, i know you won't notice.

again, i cried knowing

that this would be

the first and the last time that i could hold you.

it was a long night, under the vast dark skies.

and i just left you there dreaming,

and the teardrops from my invisible cries.
