Dark Facade

They've never understood real pain,
Not the way I have that's for sure.
Forced to keep up this dark facade,
Whilst yearning to give up this cruel charade.

This isn't me, it never was.
But they'd never realise it,
too set in their ways.

You claim that you've matured,
yet you still play those games.
You're a part of their torturous plan,
And yet this lead you to believe you're a 'man'.

I should've known,
I should've waited.
I've always been one to notice,
Yet I still fell for another one of your traps.

You'd think my life is nothing but a dream,
But trust me honey,
When I say;
'not everything is as it seems'
