The girls snicker and walk away, "Wait!" I call out to them, I don't know why I do. They seem to be rude and very self involved, but if they know something, I want to know.
"AS if we would talk to you," the main girl says before they continue to walk out of my sight.
"Why would you want to talk to them?" Chastity asks bitterly, her eyes narrow at me.
"They, " I say before taking a deep, calming breath, "they know something."
"Maybe it's for the better that you don't," Chastity says with a small smile.
"You," I say pointing my finger at her, "k-know," I try to say what I want but my brain stops me from saying anything else.
"Hey, don't get worked up over this, everything is okay."
"NO!" I yell making everyone turn to me. I probably look like I am having a tantrum over something stupid and little, but I am not. This is not something little, my memory is gone, gone completely. People are acting like everything is okay, but nothing is, nothing is making sense, nothing is adding up and instead of people explaining it to me, they say it is for the better, for my benefit. They are being selfish,, everyone here knows something I don't about me and it is tearing me apart. "As bad," I tell her softly before rushing out.
"What's up with her?" I hear Chastity ask Arlie. I slam the door on my way out and begin running. I have no idea where, I just choose a hall to run down and there is always another hall connecting to it. This damn mansion is like a maze. Breathing heavily, I am reminded of how much I hate cardio. Oh well.
I run into a boy and we both topple over, huh, I thought everyone was in the cafeteria, guess not. "Hey, watch out," he says softly, "don't want to get injured." I look into his vibrant green eyes and I sigh, wow. He holds out his hand, I graciously take it. "I'm Boston, and you are?"
"Edyta," I say quietly.
"Are you new here, I am you must be new here right? Because I can't say I recognize you although I guess that wouldn't say much since I don't know everyone here, but I feel as though I would recognize you if you weren't new because-"
"Yes," I say softly while laughing, I didn't know when his rambling session would end so I just figured I would end it but answering his question.
He laughs uneasily, "I'm sorry, usually I am much cooler." I smile brightly at his statement, I guess I should honored then. "You don't talk much, do you?"
"Not really," I say a little bit louder than my last word to him.
He scratches the back of his neck, "so, do you mind me asking, why were you running earlier?" Oh crap, I am supposed to be on the run.
"Bye." I say before side stepping and running, once again. I turn the corner as soon as I could so I don't see his uneasy eyes or confused expression. Now to find a way out... I continue to make lefts and rights until I am standing right outside the cafeteria, nice, I went in a loop and am nowhere closer to the exit.
"Edyta!" I turn to see Arlie, completely out of breath, "hungry? Because all of this running is making me hungry."
"Tell me," I demand.
Arlie's playful smile drops, "I wish I could, I really do. I hate seeing you like this, I truly do, especially when you were the most carefree girl, but it is not my place."
I sigh, clearly this is not his call, it is an order from someone above, as much as I hate it, I cannot be mad at him. Something about his statement makes me all warm inside, "tell me," I say softly, he opens his mouth but I put my hand on his mouth, I was not finished, "who I was." My head starts pounding and I try to shake my head as if to destroy the headache inside, but sadly it gains more momentum spreading to my arms and stomach, then to my legs.
