Often, life could seem slow. Or fast- it depends on how you look at it. It might be fast, but you want it to be slow, or the other way around.
For Yoongi, his days were slow.
School was but a distraction for him, feeling like he could be doing anything else; so it was anything else that he did.
His school encouraged flexible learning, so there was a small percentile of students who would bring in laptops and take more effective notes for them to study when the time came. Clearly, Yoongi was one of those students.
He got to school early as usual, and sat in his corner seat. There was a skylight above him which poured down morning sun. He shivered under the warmth of it, even though he was wearing both the jumper and blazer that his school provided.
His laptop was out and plugged into the power point that sat on the wall beside him. Honestly, where he sat was so perfect. No one disturbed him- not that anyone would, anyway- and he could do what he wanted in peace.
Which was, therefore, aimlessly scrolling through Spotify and pointlessly adding more songs to his already endless playlists.
Yoongi hadn't realized class had started until halfway during geography, when he looked up to stretch and found the teacher giving a lesson on internal migration. He really couldn't care less, so he looked back down to his sleek, black laptop.
Eventually, though, he was disturbed.
"Well, clearly you've been paying attention," A voice speaks up to him. Yoongi quickly analyses the world around him, noting the class was moving around and students were all talking among each other. Yoongi looked down at his laptop again, specifically to a subtitle program that he let sit in the corner of the screen.
"Clearly I haven't, actually, but considering you're apparently going to be sitting where I am now," Yoongi looks up at the seating plan which was displayed on the presentation, "and since I know you, I'm going to not-so-kindly ask you to sit elsewhere."
"You're gonna have Jimin next to you, y'know."
"The bubbles kid?"
"Bubbles- Wow. Well, yeah, Jimin. You don't really know what he's like, but, not your kinda guy."
"Wow, good thing there's a thing called ignorance."
Hoseok sighed with a slight smile on his face. "Suit yourself," and he walked away, supposedly to sit somewhere else like Yoongi asked. It wasn't really like the teacher was going to be strictly checking where they sat, anyway.
"Hello!" A cheery voice chimed in like the painful, highest key of a piano. Yoongi didn't bother to respond.
"I'm Jimin, it's nice to meet you, Yoongi. I haven't heard much from you as of yet, so I hope we can become friends!" Jimin introduces himself, but gets nothing other than a blank stare from Yoongi.
"Gonna be upfront here. I'm unsociable and I suggest giving up now, because both you and I are gonna enjoy it more that way," He suggests, bangs of his black hair touching his eyelashes softly as he blinked, irritated.
"Oh. Um, okay..." Jimin mumbled, awkwardly looking away as Yoongi did so easily. Clearly they weren't going to get on well, but Jimin guessed it was better this way.
Right?
Either way, as class went on, Yoongi really did hold true to what he said. He didn't even look Jimin's way once, and kept his eyes glued on his laptop. As the gossipy person Jimin was (although only with close friends), he made it his goal to find out what Yoongi was looking at.
Now, this was a simple task. Take a peek while Yoongi isn't looking.
But that godforsaken skylight that sat above Yoongi like a misplaced halo gave the screen so much glare that Jimin couldn't see a thing.
He huffed and scoffed every time he tried to take a look, but eventually he saw a small part of the screen go dark, and be visible to the human eye.
He kept glancing over, waiting for the sun to move.
He decided it was taking much too long, and started to fully pay attention to class as he hoped it would take his mind off the whole ordeal. Surprisingly, it worked so well he forgot to check.
It wasn't until he started packing up to leave for the day that he remembered his original goal- and from the corner of his sight, he could see there was no sun at all.
And so, with a fake stretch of his back, he leaned back to take a well-deserved look at Min Yoongi's laptop.
Sadly, though, his gossipy dreams were crushed when all he saw was Yoongi looking at a video of a dog chasing its' tail.
On pathetic, boring, twitter.
