Merida's POV

I woke up and looked at my bed head.

Woah...

I look fierce.

My eyes wandered around the room.

What happened on that gasoline station shouldn't be silenced...

Numbness washed over me as I sat up in the bed.

My legs swung to one of the sides of the bed.

I dug through my pockets of my sweater and found my phone.

The light from my phone showed as I looked at my contacts and found my Mom's phone number.

Without much hesitation I started dialing.

Almost immediately I started running short of breath.

The ringing made my heart skip more than a few heart skips.

"Hello?"My mom answer confused.

"Mom"I breathed out and I could hear the other line be silent.

My hand gripped the phone.

"Don't hang up"I said firmly.

"Merida I wasn't g-"

"Mom don't lie to me"I said suddenly feeling exhausted.

"I truly am sorry Merida"

"Did you know?"I asked, stupidly.

"About your Father?"She asked which shocked me.

I hadn't said anything yet she knew what I was talking about.

...Every Mom's sixth sense.

"So you knew"I said while getting up, energy suddenly flowing through me.

And not positive energy, the energy that you would use to kill someone.

I could hear a crackle from behind me.

"Darling why do you think I fight with him?"Her voice said making me freeze.

"I... I always... always..."I stuttered and couldn't think anymore.

"Did you catch him in the act?"

"What do you think"I said feeling breathless.

Tears stung to my eyes.

"I'm sorry that you had to see that"

"When we're you going to tell me"I said feeling angry again.

"I was hoping to tell you when you graduate from college"She said making me shock.

"Look darling I have to go to another meeting"

"Mom do-"

The beeping from the other line made me glare at my phone.

Once again I heard the crackling but it soon diminished.

"Merida"A soft yet rough voice said making me look around.

Oh crap.

I'm so damn scared of this voice.

I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out.

Without hesitation I started walking towards the door of the cabin.

The voice kept saying my name.

Occasionally the ghost would appear and try to stop me.

And soon another joined the voice.

My feet followed whatever it followed.

Soon I reached the fence that lead to the forest.

That's where I realized that I shouldn't go forward.

I realized that but I didn't obey it.

I didn't obey my gut so I followed voices that I didn't even recognize.

High five stupid me.

Small little blue lights is what I followed.

Every time I would get near them they would disappear and a new one would reappear.

My legs burned after a while.

Sweat dripped from my forehead.

The voices rung loudly making me wonder if anyone else could have heard the voices.

I stopped on the top of a hill and looked down at the bottom.

A waterfall was there.

The sunset glistened on the waterfall giving it the illusion that the water had a fiery glow.

The voices got silent making me look around.

"RUN"A voice said making me look around and see the ghost.

He was moving his hand to the side.

My reaction... ignore him.

Before I could take a step forward towards the waterfall, there was a rustle in the leaves.

I looked around and caught a shadow moving.

Too quickly for it to be human.

... I badly wished I had my bow and arrows.

I felt my breath accelerate as everything was still.

The sun setting; casting darkness around.

From the corner of my eye I saw someone coming making me block an attack.

A branch hit my arm making me try to look at the person's face.
Of course I was unable to.

The person's movement was too fast.

Before I got the chance to do anything, something hit me in the back of the head making me fall to my knees.

My vision blurred and then focused.

Soon enough my vision darkened and I fell face forward.

I tried moving but found myself not able to.

The last thing I heard was the winds' howl.

My last thought being... was this a trap?
