taehyung awoke to the sound of a light tune playing through his ears, along with a light, quiet thump. opening his eyes, they came to focus on the dim light of the tv, stuck on the play screen of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and the darkness that was visible on the other side of the window. raising his head, taehyung looked around the room and found that he was still on the couch with jimin, basically laying on top of the elder male.

squeaking quietly, taehyung slowly moved over to the gap on the couch between jimin's body and the cushion, opting to squish himself there rather than have jimin wake up and find taehyung on top of him. apparently the movement was enough to muster jimin out of his sleep, because next thing taehyung knew, jimin was rolling off the couch and on the floor, groaning at the pain now resonating through his back.

taehyung pretended to be asleep again, hoping his breathing had calmed down enough to find his feigned slumber believable. taehyung heard rustling and then jimin grumbling things along the lines of 'where am i?' and 'ow'. then the mumbling stopped.

"what an idiot. he's not using a blanket," jimin whispered, then there was a small warmth settling over taehyung's body. jimin had placed a blanket over him. taehyung felt his heart get even warmer at the small gesture, even if it was small.

taehyung was about to 'wake up', but he decided against it when he felt fingers threading in his hair, the feeling almost making him purr. they stayed like that for what felt like forever, even if it was only 5 minutes, when the hand left taehyung's head, him letting out the quietest whine. hopefully jimin didn't hear that. but he did, because next thing taehyung knew, the fingers were back and they were scratching against his scalp softly. it sent shivers down taehyung's spine.

"you like that, hm?" jimin quietly asked. taehyung would've kept quiet, but it was useless. jimin knew he was awake now. groggily opening his eyes, taehyung slowly sat up.

"yeah," he blushed, looking down when he saw a smile crack Jimin's sleep-bloated face. "what time is it?"

"unfortunately, time for me to head back to the dorms," jimin sighed, slowly removing his hand from taehyung's hair. "the dean will get mad at me. again."

"oh. well, that didn't answer my question," taehyung giggled when jimin threw his head back, a laugh escaping his throat. jimin always laughed easily.

"well, from what i can tell, it's the asscrack of dawn," jimin gazed out of the window. for sure, the sun's orange hue was peeking out from the early horizon. taehyung sighed and threw himself back onto the couch, his head almost hitting the arm.

"i don't want you to go, though," taehyung pouted, his hand moving to grab jimin's that was resting on the cushion.

"trust me, i don't want to either," jimin moved his hand so that he could close his fingers around taehyung's. both of their hearts fluttered at the feeling. cliché. as always.

"but i really don't want to get in trouble. i better go," jimin smiled sadly as he unlaced their fingers, standing up and yelping when his knees popped. "i'm too old for this."

"oh, shut up, chim," taehyung threw a pillow at jimin, only for the older to slap it away, resulting in it hitting taehyung instead.

"no, hitting, taehyungie," jimin jokingly scolded taehyung like a puppy, cooing when a frown adorned the younger's face.

"aish, i'm breaking up with you," taehyung crossed his arms and looked to side, the frown still on his lips.

"oh, we're doing that, now are we?" jimin smirked as he plopped down beside taehyung on the couch.

"maybe i won't let you break up with me," jimin smirked as he put his finger under taehyung's chin, making the latter look at him.

"too bad," it took all of taehyung's being to fight the blush working it's way up. "out of my house."

"ouch, babe, you're hurting my heart," jimin dramatically grasped his heart, looking at taehyung through squinted eyes.

"well, you hurt my feelings," taehyung stuck his chin in the air.

"but really, you shouldn't get in trouble because of me," taehyung smiled at jimin when they dropped their act.

"yeah," jimin kept his eyes on taehyung before standing up. jimin walked his way to the door, putting his hand on the knob. "see you tomorrow, taetae."

taehyung stayed on the couch for the rest of that morning. he didn't have school, as he did online courses. and he didn't work today. so, the day was his.

it was 1 in the afternoon when taehyung sat back down the living room couch, back from his shower. he flipped through the channels, eventually stopping on the news.

"BREAKING NEWS: A fatal bus crash one mile away from Seoul Central University, the cause yet unknown. There are multiple deaths, but the total count is, also, unknown."

wait. that bus. that was the bus jimin takes.

   god, please, no.
