I spent some time with Remus, drinking tea and chatting about some work business. His room was a mess today, but I didn't dare ask if it was because of the upcoming full moon since I thought he was already nervous enough. Instead, I talked to him about Harry's problem with the Hippogriff, but he didn't know a solution either.

It was half an hour later, when his eyes must have caught something because they widened, and he looked at me almost in shock without apparent reason. "Excuse me, Alia, there is something urgent I need to tend to."

I watched him gather some things from his desk and hurry out of the room before I could ask any questions. I thought about following him but decided against it. I figured he was on his way to Severus for his Wolfsbane Potion. So, I decided to go to bed early and bridge the time until we would all head home for the holidays.

"My parents wouldn't be happy about my being with a half-blood, let alone the daughter of what they consider a traitor," Sirius told me one day. It was shortly before the summer holidays after our sixth year. We were lying near the Great Lake, soaking in the sun, and Sirius had rested his head on my stomach, staring up at the clear blue sky. His grey eyes were glistening in the sun, and I could hardly stop myself from staring into his handsome face.

"Well, my father would be euphoric knowing I'm with the son of Orion and Walburga of the noble house Black. That would redeem his name." I laughed. "But I don't think he'd like you anymore as soon as he got to know you in person."

"What's that supposed to mean? I make a wonderful son-in-law!"

"To normal people yes, but first of all – you're a Gryffindor and he hates those. Then second, you are a disgrace to your family and all purebloods in general – which is by the way in my opinion one of your most attractive features. And third, you make me rebelliousas he'd put it."

Sirius lifted his head and leaned over me. "Rebellious, huh?"

He started tickling my sides and I couldn't fight the fit of laughter and squirming that overcame me. At some point, I tried to get on top of him. but we only ended up rolling down the small hill that led to the lake. When we finally stopped, we started laughing because we looked like a mess. Sirius was lying on top of me still and after we had calmed down, I nervously noticed how close we were.

Sirius wasn't nervous. He leaned down and kissed me, his hair tickling my face as he pulled me close. At first, I felt like I was drunk because the kiss was so different from all the other stolen ones we had shared and the butterflies in my stomach were going crazy. Sirius's delicious smell flooded my nostrils and I couldn't think nor comprehend what was happening because I had never been this euphoric. It was when he broke away for a second that I knew this was real. He kissed me again, hard this time and I let go of all my worries. In that moment, I was utterly happy.

It was only after a long while that Sirius and I were so exhausted that we stopped making out. I rested in his arms, the smell of the lake mixing with his as we dozed off for a while.

"I can't let you go away for so many weeks," he said then. I knew what he meant. It had taken us all year to really get together and now that we were, the holidays were approaching. And I had to go back to Germany with my dad for the first four weeks. Although I had let go to some extent – I couldn't just run away like Sirius had.

"I have to," I replied. "It's only this one time. Next year, we're graduating and then I won't go back again."

"I don't like the thought of you being with your dad after everything you told me about him." Sirius looked at me with a stern expression. "Just stay with me and James. Or maybe Lily, if you don't want that."

"I can't do that, Sirius." I sighed when I saw his disappointed face. "I'd love to spend the summer with you, but I still need to fetch my things and I want to say goodbye to my mom."

"But they're going to be visiting England anyway, you can always see her and they could bring your belongings," he argued.

"I know but it's not the same and who knows if my dad would do that for me. I need to have some time with mum without him nearby to explain what's going on and I only get that chance this summer," I explained. "It's only four weeks. I spend the rest in London with my muggle grandparents. We can meet then, you could stay with me for a while."

"I know," he admitted reluctantly. "But what if he finds out? What if he hurts you?"

"He might be an asshole but he's not violent," I said and looked him in the eyes. "Are you really this worried?"

He blushed a little, it was barely noticeable but I saw it. His expression was now more serious. "I love you, Alia."

I blinked a few times, wondering if I had understood him correctly. "You love me?"

"I do," he stressed. "I know my reputation is not the best. But it's different this time. I love you and I want to be with you for as long as you'll have me."

"I love you, too." My hand found his and I intertwined my fingers with his. "I'll see if I can get to London earlier. And I write you an owl every day until we can meet again."

He smiled. "Okay, I can accept that. For you."

The he pulled me close again and we watched the sunset together. Trying to forget all the troubles that lay ahead of us.

I couldn't sleep. I didn't know why but I had a terrible gut feeling, some sort of nervousness. Call it intuition or not, but I felt as though something was going on. I had never had troubles sleeping during a full moon night, but I figured it was a possible solution to my restlessness. Nevertheless, instead of sleeping, I continued to work on a Rune Translation by candlelight. Not the best for my eyes, but it kept me distracted.

It was well after 3 am when I finally fell asleep, still with a bad feeling which lead me to some weird dreams. In one, I had been fired from teaching at Hogwarts and returned home, where a group of Ministry employees was waiting for me, telling me they would sent me to Azkaban for conspiring against them. In another sequence I got a letter, telling me that they had found Sirius and he had been punished with the Dementor's Kiss. They were asking me, if they could send me his belongings now that he was dead.

I woke up covered in sweat and tears.

The next morning, Dumbledore knocked at my door and I was well aware how disheveled I looked when I opened. But even though I had had this ominous bad feeling the night before, I wasn't prepared for what he was about to tell me.
