Teddy Bear (lams angst)

Flashback
"Oh my god Alex, you're taking so long. If you don't give me a boner by the time you're done I'm going to steal your teddy bear." John shouted.
"How can you steal yourself?" Alex replied, stepping out of the bathroom.
"You smooth motherfucker." John giggled and pulled Alex into a hug, kissing him gently.

I hugged the teddy bear closer to my chest, tears streaming down my face. This was the closest I'd ever come again to hugging John. Why did it have to be him? Couldn't it have been me?

Flashback
Alex broke their hug and glanced at his watch. "Shit, shit, shit!" He said.
"We're going to be late for work!" He panicked.
"Chill! We'll call Laffy in the car." John replied, practically running out the door, Alex on his heels.

The car accident that took John's life left everyone in shock. Angelica told me that as the paramedics dragged me into the hospital I was screaming, "Teddy bear! Teddy bear!" I curled up closer to myself.

Flashback
John sighed, "I'm driving, Alex. You can call Laffy."
"You sure? You hate driving." Alex said skeptically.
"So do you! Just go with it, babe." John insisted and got into the driver's seat.
"Okay, Teddy Bear. But I'm driving back. Deal?" Alex asked, kissing John over the center console.
"Deal."

Lafayette blamed himself for the accident. I assured him, no, it was nobody's fault but my own. If I had just driven instead it wouldn't have happened. I sobbed into the bear.

Flashback
"Laffy! I'm really sorry man, but we're gonna be late this morning. Teddy Bear said I took forever and a half to get ready." Alex said, glancing jokingly at John.
"It's alright, mon ami. By the way, be careful. It's slippery on the streets." Laf replied. Alex pulled the phone away from his face.
"Laffy says to be careful, Teddy Bear!" Alex said to John. John laughed.
"Well, tell Laffy I will!"

John was careful. It was the semi truck driver that wasn't. Alex braced himself at the memory of the side of the truck sliding straight towards the car. He still heard Johm's screams as it hit them.

Flashback
"Laffy, we'll be there in- JOHN!"
Their combined screams pierced the air as the pristine white truck slammed into the front of the car. The windshield shattered on the two of them, piercing them in different places of their body.
"John!" Alex gasped for air in the thick smoke. Through it, he saw John laying next to him, his legs burning. A large piece of glass in his heart.
"I love you, Alex! I love you, I love you baby!" John gasped. Alex scrambled through the overturned car, not caring that he was crawling on broken metal and glass. He reached for John's face, caressing it gently.
"John!" He choked out, watching his love struggle for breath.
"A-alex..." John managed to let out. Alex pressed down and kissed John gently.
"I'm here, Teddy Bear. I'm here."
