It was the first day of Camp Campbell as everyone going to it knew. They used to be able to call it "Cameron Campbell's Camp Campbell" two years ago , but now that David had taken over, that wouldn't really work like it used to. Now it was "David Luna's Camp Campbell", but that didn't really roll off the tongue..so they just ended up calling it Camp Campbell like it was named after the soup or something like that. It started on the same exact day and same exact time every year. Granted, some campers came later than that for reasons that would more than likely be kept to themselves, but still. It was the day that some dreaded, some were just fine with, and some absolutely adored. However, the adored pile only held one person, and that was David. The ginger always loved this time of year. He loved seeing all the campers and teaching them new skills that would help them in the future, he loved the idea of being in the forest while still doing what he loved, and he especially loved Camp Campbell and almost everything that had to do with it. Camp Campbell was the place he met his first Pokemon companion at, and he even met a few other of his Pokemon here. He had been here since he was a young kid, coming here year after year just to experience the happiness that would come with it.

Every single year he came hours early, both from enthusiasm and just in case a camper were to come really early for some unknown reason. Usually the camper who came the earliest was Max, a camper who surprisingly mostly hated the camp even though he was the first person there for two years in a row, but David knew the reason to that. He knew Max really only sort of liked the camp because it is where he met his first Pokemon companion, and he had his only friends here. He also knew the reason why Max was the first to come and the last to leave, but he wouldn't reveal that to anyone even if they asked.

David was nearly jumping around in his spot as he anxiously awaited the arrival of the campers, his Pokeballs almost flying off of his belt when he had, but he was also anxiously waiting for Gwen. Gwen always came sort of late, but she over prepared and procrastinated to the last minute. Almost always when she came you could see her Pokemon just laying around in her car since she didn't want to waste the time of putting them in their Pokeballs, her clothing just on the back seat, her items randomly around her car, and overall she was just a mess. David just learned that in the years of working with her, this was to be expected. Honestly, almost every year when he saw it he couldn't help but laugh as hard as he possibly could. He always did sort of enjoy waiting for Gwen though, since it was sort of like a huge treat and relief when she came and took some of the stress of handling 10 or more kids at the same time. David knew they would probably need more counselors in the future, since the camp had slowly but surely getting more popular and more people had been coming. That was probably because David was actually taking better care of the camp, and making sure that all of the equipment was in order and the camps were at least sort of official-like. He was also making sure that all of the camps had at least some sort of attention. He even made sure Max, who was mostly causing trouble since he didn't have an appropriate camp something to keep himself occupied with, had a camp to do. He knew that this wasn't probably the full reason why Max was acting out like this, but he wanted to make sure he could even help his most troubled camper. Max had joined both music and knitting camp. While it wasn't normal for campers to join more than one camp in the past, David had allowed it now since he knew that kids usually had more that one interest. He even put in some new camps that campers could chose from..

Overall, David was just working to make sure that the camp had everything it might possibly need and that everything was in order. He even had bigger places made where Pokemon who couldn't fit in tents could sleep. He had been making the camp better, baby steps at a time, and making sure that he could at least sort of reverse the bad deeds that Cameron had done to everyone at the camp. He even made sure that science camp was better, making sure that any science camper that were to come through had a place to work in air conditioning and have peace and quiet. He had just taken the campers suggestions into account, and done his best to fix the camp with them. Honestly, it was much easier to keep up with fixing the camp since there was no government on their tails anymore. No government on their tails meant that they had more money, and more money meant that they would be able to fix the camp up.
