malia's pov

i walked up to grayson right before his eyes landed on me.

"hey," he smiled.
"hi," i replied.

"how come you never told me your dad is usually gone?" he questioned me.

i shrugged, "i didn't think it was much of a deal."
"how long is he staying until he leaves?" he asked.

"he told me he's staying for the rest of the weekend so me and my mom could spend quality time with him before he leaves for another month or so," i clicked my tongue after finishing my sentence.

"he's a really nice father," he commented.
i smiled, "thanks."

"the bracelet looking icy though," he said in a funny tone as he stared at my bracelet.

"i know bro," i said with the same funny tone back.

"bro?" his eyebrows furrowed.

"yes bro," i said bro slowly to prove i meant what i said.

"whatever," he rolled his eyes as a joke.

i chuckled, "well, i'll see you around. i'm going to go with my friends."

"sounds good. if you need anything, let me know," he said before giving me a quick hug before i walked away.

i walked towards daniela who was looking down at her phone, waiting for me.

"hi," i said as i got closer to her.

"oh hi," she said with a smile as she put her phone away.

"my dad is back," i mentioned since i tell my bestfriend everything.

"really?" she asked.

i nodded my head, "yes. he even bought me this bracelet."

i lifted up my arm to show her my new bracelet.

"it's so pretty," she gasped.

"thank you," i said with a smile.

"you're so mean," i cried as i wiped the ice cream off my face.
"you mean i'm so nice," my dad corrected me as he laughed.

"you guys are so immature," my mom shook her head as she laughed at both of us.

i gave my dad a look saying 'do it'.

my dad scooped a small layer of ice cream and rubbed it on her cheeks.

my mom gasped as she lightly slapped my dad's arm.
"how dare you guys?" she laughed.

"you love usss," i smiled innocently.

after we were done eating our ice cream, we went to the nearest movie theater.

they wanted to watch jumanji since my father is obsessed with the rock.

i'm obviously not going to disagree with him. plus i don't mind.

after all the stupid laughs during the movie, it started to get late so we started to head home.

"today was so much fun," my mom sigh deeply as she threw herself on the couch.

"i can say the same thing here," dad let out a light laugh.

i sat down on the kitchen table and scrolled though my phone from all the messages i missed while i was in the movie theater.
