malia's pov

we walked down the hall as i received some stares from many people.

words spread around that i got my ass handed to me by madison.

"ignore them," daniela whispered to me as we walked to my locker.

"i'm trying," i replied while i took a big gulp of air from nervousness.

"whatever these bitches gotta say, don't listen to them," thomas said, wanting to make me feel more confident.

i shook my head, "i won't."

i opened my locker and grabbed my things for my next class period.

"okay let's get to class," i instructed before we started to go our separate ways.

i kept walking towards my class until someone stopped me.

"hey," i looked up to see grant with a cheeky yet nervous smile.

"hi," i smiled back without even realizing how quick i smiled.

"are you doing better?" he asked in a caring tone.

i nodded my head, "yeah."
"that's good," he sigh lightly.

there was an awkward silence for a while, and i felt like i should say something.
i should definitely say something.

"thank you," i broke the silence by thanking him.
"no problem," he smiled without showing his teeth.

"i should be getting to class now," i told him.
"yeah sure, definitely," he said as he moved out of the way, letting me continue walking.

grayson: hurry up and come to my locker

annoying bitch.

i started to walk towards his locker and i was expecting the expected.

instead; cameron, alex, ethan, nate isn't with him.

i walked up slowly to him as he was staring down at his phone, waiting for me to show up.

he looked up at me and put his phone back in his pocket, putting his attention on me.

"where's madison?" i referred to how that's the only reason why he wanted me to meet him.

"she's not here today since she got in trouble for some reason," he shrugged.

"oh," i said plainly, not wanting to talk to him.
"yup," he nodded his head.

why is he being so awkward?

"i'm gonna go," i said as i tried to ignore talking to him.

"wait," he said calmly while he grabbed onto my wrist, stopping me.

i turned around and sigh quietly.
"what?" i asked in annoyance.

he didn't say anything.
he just gave me a look like i was dumb.

"you're not going to tell me anything?" he finally spoke.

"tell you what?" i said in confusion, acting as if nothing happened.

"give me a hug," he removed his hand from my wrist and opened his arms.

"but madison isn't even here," i pointed out.

"just give me a damn hug," he demanded like he needed to find out about something.

i rolled my eyes slightly as i tried to hug him around his torso so he could wrap his arms around my collarbone and not my waist.
