Chapter 2

I could barely see the fort from where we we're, I hope on my horse and looked at the girl in front of my horse. I then lean forward and put my hand out.

"Ellie come on we have to go!" I said and she grabbed my hand and when she jumped I pulled her behind me so she sat on Johnny. I then saw Tommy and Joel come out of the forest.

"Go on a head of us (Y/N)." Tommy said and I started moving my horse as fast as I could threw the forest which wasn't to fast. I then felt arms wrapped around my waist, I look back at Ellie holding me tightly. I looked forward and was about to be at the gates.

I slowed my horse and realized the gates weren't opening. Shit. I thought and I know something was going on. I then heard more gun shoots.

"What are we going to do!?" Ellie asked.

"I think there's a back way." I said and looked at her. "But I can't take my horse we have to put him in the woods." I then slowly moved to the edge of the woods and latch him onto a tree. We then walked around the fort to the back. There was then a hole where we could slip in but we had to climb something, then an idea popped in my head.

"Ellie I'll give you a left and then you can pull me enough so I can get up." I said.

"Ok, give me a lift." She says. I rub my hands and lower myself and rubbed my hands to get myself ready. I open my hands so her feet can slide in. She then stepped on my hands and I lushed my hands up with her and she got on. She then lowers her hands and I jump and grab them and she lifts me up enough for me to get it the rest of the way. "Get team work." She says once I'm standing.

"Shh!" I whisper. "We need to be quite." I said and grabbed my bow and an arrow getting ready. "Ok let's go in and see if we can help people. Alright?" I said she nods and I slip in and she follows behind me.

We see these men who I've never known before. I look at Ellie and mouthed you know these guys? She shock her head no. I then see Maria, Tommy's wife I guess, she was tied up with others. I then saw someone...he looked familiar. He had black clothing on and jet black hair. I then see next to him dead bodies. Oh shit! I thought.

"Where is she!" The man yelled. "Where is she!" He looked at Maria. "Tell me or someone else gets it." He kneels next to her and grabbed her face. "Come on you don't want another one to die do you?" He asked.

"No." She says quietly. " I'm not telling you."

"Oh so the kid dies is that what you say?" He then stands up and slap her real hard. "Ok let me see the little boy." She starts yelling for him to stop but he wasn't going to. I then notice the man, and who he was looking for...me.

"Ok Ellie you have a gun?" I whisper and she nods. She then pulls out a saw off shoot gun. "Good now I'm going up there will quick and once I shoot you pop out and hold the gun towards them." I then rushed off to a night area. I then saw the cargo box and climb up. I was behind the crowd and I put my gas mask on so they don't know who I am.

"Ok see this little boy." He grabs a boy around ten, his name was Max he was a cutie. "He going to die." Then his mother was screaming no and Maria was trying to get up and save him.

I then draw my bow and aim for his neck. I looked toward Ellie and nod. I release the arrow, I see it fly threw the air. It then went threw a part between his shoulder and his neck. He yells and turns around towards me. I then see Ellie come out and cock her shoot gun and point it at the three men.

I had a draw arrow and was facing it towards him. "Let go of the kid." I said firmly and looked at him dead in the eyes. "Now." He lets go of the kid and he runs towards his family.

"Look, we have men around here and if he sees you two then they'll pop a bullet in your guys' head." He threatened. I smirked but he couldn't see it.

"Well they won't notice, they'll think that you guys are killing one of the people, not us." I said and jumped off and still had the arrow pointed at them.

"Well let's act proper then. I'm Adam, and I'm here looking for a girl, you might know her, (Y/N), was the name I was looking for." I then saw Ellie's face drop and she was shock.

"Well right now she's dead." I said and saw Joel and Sam on the roof that was covering the prison people. "She won't come around." I said.

"Well how did she die?" He asked.

"I killed her. She was about to attack me. So I killed her." I then made it so my arrow wasn't locked back and snapped my finger. When I did so Joel and Tommy jumped down and stabbed the other two men next to Adam.

"What the fuck!?" He said. I then draw back the arrow and aimed it at him.

"What? Is it because we out smart you?" I saw Ellie and Tommy untying the people as Joel stay wear he was looking at Adam. "Come on Adam, people like you don't just kill people and get away, I mean yes I've done it to your precious daughter...Uh Lilly. But that was because she was trying to kill me and my friend."

"What!? (Y/N) you pay for what you did to her!" He yelled and then laughs. "But no I'm out smarting you." He then pulls out a detonator. I then released the arrow but it was too late he pressed the button.

We heard a explosion and we all, even his own men and including him self fall down and into the freezing water. I still saw people tied up and were falling. Oh shit! I felt myself falling and I look down and saw the cold water. I look to my left and saw Ellie eyes widen.

I then saw Joel on my other side. "(Y/N) Ellie can't swim! Help her." And then I hit the water. I took the gas mask off and saw Ellie's body limp in the water. I felt the current drifting is away. I then swam towards Ellie and then saw a big rock. I swam faster to her. I was close enough to grab her. I then felt the rock hit my back hella hard. I felt like closing my eyes, but I knew I couldn't.

I then saw the little boy Max too, as I held Ellie I got him too. I felt my air going out. I swam to the shore and put them on the shore. I then pop my head and coughed up blood and water. I then saw Max's mom run towards me.

"Thank god! Thank you (Y/N) for saving him again." She picked him up and held him close to her.

"Don't need to Welcome, I was doing the lords work." I said as she picked him up and walked away. I then kept coughing up blood and water.

I look over at Ellie she was still unconscious. Fucking A. I thought and stand up and held Ellie on my back on my stuff. "No worries I got you." I said and walked into the woods. Of course it was getting dark and I leaned Ellie against a tree. I them started a fire a couple feet away from her and had some canes meat in my bag thank god.

I started cooking it and coughing up blood. "Shit." I knew I broke something. I moved so I was only a foot away from Ellie was we sat together even though she wasn't awake. I look over and saw her shivering, thank god my backpack is actually water proof. I looked in and found a blanket. I took off her jacket and put it next to the fire along with mine. I then wrapped the blanket around her wet and cold body.

Then of course I felt rain coming. "You have to be shitting me." I said and was glad I made the fire under the tree because it'll get less rain on it and is more warmth. I look at Ellie and saw how beautiful she was. I will like hanging with her.
