Today is probably the worst day of your life. After weeks of not seeing each other, your boyfriend brought you to a cafe just to break up with you, and then quickly leaving you alone to wallow in self-pity. You were fully aware of the heated stares of other customers but paid them no mind; you were so heartbroken to even be self-conscious. After a few minutes, you finally decided that you've wasted enough time moping at the cafe, doing nothing but stare at the unfinished green tea, you hastily wiped your tears away and stormed off.

A few days later, you found yourself walking in the park. Walks in the park are always a form of healing for you. Whatever problem there is, you always calm your mind when you're strolling at parks. But not now, not when memories of the two of you together lingered in every spot.

You sulked, talking a bite from the cotton candy you bought on impulse, remembering that whenever the two of you go out, cotton candy is your go food. Sitting on an empty bench on the secluded part of the park, you let yourself get surrounded by thoughts of your ex, again.

'Maybe that's why the dates had lessened even though I know that we're both free at that time...'

Not too far away from you, a male figure sat on a bench, munching on his own cotton candy. Taking a look around, he spotted you, obviously sad by the look on your face and unshed tears that glistened in the sun, staring up ahead. Being someone who likes seeing people happy, he sauntered over to you.
You were pulled out of your thoughts when you felt a presence beside you, causing you to look to your left and see a boy that looks your age, with his own cotton candy staring up ahead at the scenery in front.

"The weather's nice, isn't it?" He thought aloud with a sigh of happiness.

"Yeah, I just hope my feelings are, too..." You whispered. He hummed in response and looked at you, slight worry etched on his, you dare say, cute face.

"So, I know I just met you a few minutes ago, but you just looked really sad that it's starting to make me sad too. Care to share?" He pouted.

Being the rational person, you hesitated, and he seemed to take notice because he gave an assuring smile.

"Don't worry, I'm not gonna do anything bad about the story you have, but if it makes feel at ease, I'll tell my sob story too." He took a deep breath before continuing, "You see, my ex broke up with me a week ago. She was my first girlfriend ever, and I really thought she'll be my last. But, she cheated on me and then she told me my dancing, which is my ultimate hobby and dream, sucked."

You gaped at the last sentence. Cheating is one thing, but hearing the person you love say bad things about your dream? Wow, you haven't even met the girl and you hate her already.

"I was moping around at first, but then I realized that moping around will do nothing, so this is what I did: I reversed everything."

Confused, you stared at him, "Reversed?"

He nodded a grin on his face. "Yup. For example, right now. My ex hated taking walks at the park and would rather shop; she also doesn't have a sweet tooth, so now I'm taking a stroll here while eating cotton candy." He gave her a thumbs up before continuing. "So... can I know your story now?"

Yeah, you are rational, but sometimes you're moved by stories, so you shared your own story.

"Well I'm just like you, except for the insulting the dream and reversal thingy. I'm actually doing the opposite..."

His eyebrows shot up in curiosity. "Really... then I guess you like going to parks and eating cotton candy?"

You hummed, taking a bite of the cotton candy before letting out a miserable chuckle. "I bet I look pitiful..."

To your surprise, he patted your head and slightly pinched your cheek.

"Nope, you actually looked like a cute mochi that needs to be protected." He laughed.

Deciding that this person is nice enough to be trusted, you laughed along with him. "I'll take as a compliment then."

Comfortable silence enveloped the both of you before you broke it, asking a very important question.

"Uh, I just realized, I don't know your name..."

He grinned before offering his free hand towards you.

"Lee Chan."
