The moment you stepped inside the classroom, all eyes were immediately on you. You wouldn't deny that you're well known in campus, being a part of the student council and all, but still, your classmates all staring at you like you grew two heads is very uncommon. Smiling awkwardly, you went to your desk and saw something that answered your question.

Ah, so this might be the reason why they're staring at me like I'm an alien. You thought.

On your desk were a semi-rectangular shaped gift and an envelope with your name in it on top. You were curious about the gift and the letter, and of course who brought it, but you had no time to open it because the teacher just went inside and immediately started her lesson for the day.

You were so focused on the first three classes that the gift and letter never crossed your mind again until your friend and also a member of the student council went to your desk.

"Haein-ah, are you going to lunch with us at the student council office or will you rather look at the gift alone?" Minhee asked, wiggling her eyebrows playfully. You blushed, half from the embarrassment of almost forgetting about the gift and the other half because you know that Minhee is right, you'd want to see the gift without anyone else seeing it. The student council are your friends, and you love them to bits, but sometimes it's not that smart to have them know something, especially since they have access to the broadcast room and may have the tendency to read the letter through the whole school.

You smiled at your friend, "Quite right about that Minhee-ah. I'll see you after lunch okay?" Quickly fishing out the gift, envelope and lunch from bag, you quickly darted to your favorite spot when you want to be alone, a large tree planted at the garden of your school. Quickly finishing your lunch, you held the book first, staring at it as if your stare will make it reveal the person behind this. You carefully opened the gift and were surprised to see Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell, one of the books you've always wanted to read. You took the letter and carefully opened it and read its content.

Haein-ah,

You might be wondering who I am, but I'm afraid I won't reveal myself. For now. As for why I'm doing this, I think you have a clue. I like you. No, I think I even love you, Lee Haein, but I still don't have enough confidence to confess directly, so at the mean time, please accept my gift because there is more to come.

I know you like books, that is actually one of the reason why I love you, that's why I asked your friends about the type of books you love. I was actually really lucky because they specifically told me the books you would really love to read hahaha.

I hope you enjoy reading this book, Haein-ah. And I hope you wait for me to have the courage to face you.

You found yourself smiling softly. Whoever this person is, they seem to really like you because of the effort. You found yourself reading the book for the rest of lunch period.

A week has passed and the gifts never stopped, until today. You were a little confused this morning because instead of the usual gift with a letter, only a letter was present on your desk. Opening the letter, you managed to read everything before the teacher came.

Haein-ah,

I know that you're confused as to why you didn't receive a gift from me. That's because today, I plan on giving it to you personally. After a year of having these feelings for you, I finally have the courage to confess. If you're curious about who I am, go to the rooftop at lunch period. I'll wait for you.

Ps. I'm sorry for saying this, but please don't accept my feelings just because you're touched by what I did. Whether you accept or reject my love for you, I will accept it wholeheartedly.

You smiled sadly at the last part of the letter, feeling guilty. You were actually planning on rejecting his confession because you already have someone in your heart.

Lunch period came and you were on your way to the meeting place, clutching the letter a bit tightly. You were quite nervous, this is the first time you're gonna reject a confession and despite knowing what to say, you're not sure you're ready for that person's reaction. You took a deep breath and pushed the door open, revealing a guy with his back facing you. Hearing the door open, he turned around and what you saw shook you to the core.

"Jeon Wonwoo? You're the one sending me the books and letters?" You asked, stupefied.

He just smiled, handing you a book. You took it from his hands and were surprised to see Every Day by David Levithan. You remembered crying to Minhee about not seeing any stock of this book anywhere for a whole week, and now just holding it makes it feel surreal. You looked up to thank Wonwoo only to see him looking down, shyly scratching his nape.

"Well, I clearly said on that letter that I'm gonna confess but I guess I'm not good at doing it, aren't I?" He smiled sadly. You hugged him, surprising the both of you.

"You know," you whispered, "I was planning on rejecting whoever confessed to me because I already love someone," he winced at your statement which made you hug him tighter.

"That person, the person I love, is you. Jeon Wonwoo."

You felt him be still in the hug before he pulls away softly, but still close enough to feel his breathe on your face.

He stared at you with pure love and adoration. "Does that mean I can court you?"

You smiled softly and nodded, making him crash you in a bear hug, your head safely tucked in his chest and his arms tightly wrapped on your waist. He rested his chin on the top of your head, murmuring sweet pleasantries. Dear lord, day one of courtship and you're already melting from his words.

"You won't regret giving me a chance. I promise that the two of us will be the protagonist of our own love story."
